First off I'd like to thank all those who voted for me and also a thanks to afro_gti for nominating my photo in the first place. Never thought I'd win a car of the month competition but hey stranger things have happened. Theres some great cars on here and it feels good to know there are other people who like the mods I have chosen.

I've enjoyed the past 2 years that I've been a member here, this site has been an endless source of information and help. I thought the car would just be my daily driver but after seeing all the cars on here, my mind was soon changed. Uk-mkivs is definatley the best forum and online community I have come accross.

Well what can i say, it was good just to win car of the month, let alone to get car of the year. As most of you'll know im mad about cars, I go through enough of them . Cars are both my passion and my livelyhood. UK-MKIVs for has helped both grow, i started out searching for a forum for my new car, back then a standard aum golf gti and it didn't take long til I found you lot, and the rest is history.... I feel I'm part of an online family who are willing to help people they know.

On a business point of view, we started advertising on the forum about a month or so ago, and while things like this take time we are steadily growning in the VW scene and have done numerous cars off the forum, tagging in the remapping too makes it even better as i get to go out in lots of different vag cars lol

Thanks to everyone who took the time and voted for my car, it is much appreciated. Its good to know that so many of you think my car is worthy for UK-MKIVS Car of the Month, and it makes all the hard work that's gone into it over the 4 years I've owned it worthwhile.

This year saw its external makeover, which was unveiled at Ultimate Dubs and also helped it win its first show and shine trophy for Best Booted VW at the Scottish United Dubbers Mega Meet. Next year it's time to concentrate on the interior, and I've got a lot of plans for it, so will keep you all posted as to how it progresses.

I have been a member here since 2003, when I first had my black Mk4 Golf and I have always found UK-MKIVS to be the best VW site for information on any matter regarding anything to do with the Mk4. It has also helped me reduce my bank balance over the years providing loads of inspiration from other members cars.

I have made a lot fantastic friends through UK-MKIVS, not to mention my best mate, who was recently my best man at my wedding. From guys like Ray (aRd) and Baz (Bazmcc) for their technical knowledge, to too many to mention for general VW chat, I've found UK-MKIVS to be more of a community than a just another VW forum.

Thanks again to all who have helped get the Gora to where it is today and to everyone who voted.

Firstly a Big THANK YOU to all the members on here that thought my car deserves to be a COTM and the Serious Performance for the prizes, not forgetting the other nominee’s for making the competition possible.

I’ve been lurking around on UK-MKIVS for a few years now doing more reading than posting and I can’t fault the community spirit that comes across when you need any help, that’s how I first used the forum.

I started to take my car to shows when Tabs gave me a chance to be on a stand back in 2005 and was surprised at the comments on how clean/tidy it was (I’ve owned it since it was 6 months old) so things just developed from there…which at times is a little hard as I have to drive the car every day and it’s never been in my garage. I do have to give my wife Pam a mention for putting up with me for all the hours I spend doing thing on the car and being a ‘Show Widow’ at the weekend.

I decided to add a few pictures to the photo submissions thread this month as the theme was OEM+ and I think my car definitely falls into that category. When I looked again after a few days at the nominations thread though, it was obvious that this month's vote was going to be a good one as there were some superb examples in there, so I was amazed when voting closed and I was joint top with MC Pee Pants who's car, in my opinion, should have cleaned up! So into the tie break poll and I managed to come out with the top vote

What can I say? Thanks to everyone that voted for me as February’s Car Of The Month – it’s an honour.

A little bit of info - the car is a non-modded GT TDi 110. She was first registered in February 1999 to a local VW dealership. I’ve owned the car since May 1999 (time flies!) and she’s now on 112k miles.

Well, the specification of the car shouldn’t take too long as she’s completely standard except for a few factory fitted options!
