Volkswagen Golf 25th Anniversary and Golf GTI Edition 30 Register

The 25th Anniversary.
Released in 2002 to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of the release of the original Mk1 GTI, has gone on to become one of the MK4's most sought after models. Due in part to the limited production run of 1800 models, split evenly into 900 petrol and 900 diesel models, it has caused solid residuals and a good base of owners to be formed.

Only three colours were available when the car was produced; Relfex Silver, Tornado Red and Black Magic Pearl. The car was also only available a three door. Special edition seats, equipment and body kit made sure the Anniversary model stood out from the crowd.

GTI Edition 30.
Volkswagen has introduced the Golf GTI Edition 30, a new study to mark the 30th anniversary of the GTI has been presented recently in the Veltins Arena in Schalke, Gelsenkirchen in front of an audience of thousands of Golf drivers from throughout Europe. With an uprated 230 PS version of the 2.0 litre turbo FSI engine, the Edition 30 study is closely related to the production model and responds to the wishes of GTI enthusiasts.

Especially prominent are the flat black 18-inch alloy wheels, manufactured by BBS and are of the same design as the Monza wheel. The different finish however really changes the look and hopefully wouldn't present the same problems owners of 25th anniversary cars suffer.  The lower front and rear valances and the side skirts are finished in body colour and the darkened tail lights off the new R32 are used to good effect. The extra power should go in some way to respond to criticism from the higher output rivals.

The Register.
Is a great way for owners (and potential buyers/sellers) to get together and discuss the model. Split into three, each register covers the 1800 & 1500 cars that were produced in the 25th Anniversary and Edition 30 range (respectively) and lists details such as colour, body style (3 or 5 dr), derivative (GTI or TDI) and gives links to personal web pages / email addresses.

Below are links to each section of the Anniversary Register.
