This delay has been a very knock on effect of a strategic overview which was commissioned by the recently appointed Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of Volkswagen AG. It seems the drive for this review was to spruce up the design for a number of models in the VW range, some of which have not even been unveiled to the public. As you can probably guess, the Golf was also one of the models targeted during the review and by signaling of this delay it's apparent the model is in for some changes....
