Does anyone know how the new Golf R's engine compares to the MkV ED30? I.E does it use the same k04 turbo etc? Have just bought an ED30 and am considering a remap.

seat leon cupra r 263bhp is 23k, surely vw badge and 4motion dont make it worth 10k more?

But for all the tree huggers complaining and increasing emissions based taxation means pretty much an end to big engined hatches.

Turbo aspirated cars are more economical and tuneable - hence they'll feature heavily in future models.

Not a real R in my opinion, all R`s should be V6. This is more of a GTi turbo than an R. Is that is name "R" what a poop name.

Yea it's a tad overpriced me thinks.. specially as the MKVII will be along sooner than previous models (imo!)

Mind you still looks gorgeous inside.. I'm beginning to get tempted by the interior of the MKVI's
