the 27th June at brands hatch in the Regal MK5 VW Cup car see previous blog posts for build up details) and also the 366 BHP track ready Regal Astra VXR,
obviously i know you guys are going to be more interested in the cup
car!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

&lt;br&gt;The prices are £35 for 3 laps in the passenger seat of
either of the cars, or £50 for 3 laps in the passenger seat of each.
This includes the insurance for your time on the track. The cars
will be driven by Tony, and he knows brands like the back of his hand
- this will probably the fastest you'll ever lap this track!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Refreshments etc will be supplied trackside.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The VXR will be running in the morning (8-12) and the cup car will be on track (1-4) in the afternoon.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Call 02380558636 if your interested, numbers are very limited!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is a great oppurtunity open to as many people
as possible, we are not looking to make money on the day but to just

you might know the &lt;a href="http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/" target="_blank"&gt;Volkswagen Racing 2007 Season&lt;/a&gt; started for us just over two weeks ago.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We
finished preparing the car for the opening round at Oulton park at the
last minute, about 9pm on the sunday with the our scurtineering for
season commencing at 7.30 on monday morning.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/w52742Picture%20079n41.jpg" border="0" height="411" width="579"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The
car passed with no problems but disatster struck when the car hit a
patch of iol dropped by a formula Ford car sending tony off the road.
The car missed the barriers, but the water rad, underside of the car
and our brand new front splitter were all damaged.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/a25317Picture%20102k41.jpg" border="0" height="385" width="580"&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The team did a brilliant job of fixing the car to get it out for race one where we had to start at the very back of the grid. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/i23876Picture%20152b41.jpg" border="0" height="388" width="585"&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Tony had a storming drive through the field and managed to grab 4th place, placing him 3rd on the grid for race 2.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/d34437bgt_rnd_1_d2_032t41.jpg" border="0" height="392" width="589"&gt; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/p45072bgt_rnd_1_d2_032u41.jpg" border="0" height="407" width="587"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;More
heartache in race 2, Tony damaged the car having been forced of the
track in avoidance of a start line shunt involving the 2 beetles that
were ahead on the grid. The car was damaged on the front passenger side
corner, and the tyre was damaged.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/c35745Picture%20205f41.jpg" border="0" height="345" width="588"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The
Race was stopped, and with Tony limping the car back to the pits the
guys were able to sort the car out and borrow a wheel from CVW Racing
so it could make the restart, albeit from the pitlane. Another great
drive saw him finish 6th place and placing him 4th in the championship.

&lt;a href="http://www.awe-tuning.com/" target="_blank"&gt;AWE exhaust&lt;/a&gt; for the car arrived this morning. Obviously, this system is
for a race car, hence the lack of cats and silencers, but the quality
of the system is just incredible and road car versions of the exhaust

the only modification we've carried out so far, added a &lt;a href="http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/thread/792610.aspx" target="_blank"&gt;EVOMS V-Flow
air intake&lt;/a&gt; which gave us a really good power gain, I can host the dyno
sheet if people are interested. This was installed as a demonstration

Racing cup with and I thought I'd keep you posted (with pictures
obviously...) on all the developments of the car and hopefully it will
be an enjoyable thread as the championship kicks off in about 3 months
time!&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'll start off with some background information:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Last
year Regal Autosport and Tony Gillham entered the &lt;a href="http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/" target="_blank"&gt;Volkswagen Racing Cup&lt;/a&gt; in a New
Beetle 2.8 24v VR6 backed by &lt;a href="http://www.giacusa.com/" target="_blank"&gt;GIAC&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.vf-engineering.com/" target="_blank"&gt;VF Engineering&lt;/a&gt;. The lime green
Beetle was a firm favourite with the fans, and Tony's skill as a driver
meant that it was always up there with the front runners, but an
unavoidable Startline accident early on in the season menat that the
car needed to be repaired and unfortunately this held us back from a
really firm title challenge.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Tony managed to grab a number of podiums, including one race win at Brands Hatch, and finished 4th in the championship.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here's a picture of last year's car:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://loader.sc0rian.com/users/public/p11526beetle_webd41.jpg" border="0"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Tony
was pleased with the car, but it simply didn't have the straight-line
speed needed to be fully competative at most circuits in the UK, so
wishing to stay in the VW cup in 2007 he needed a new car. The Beetle
has been sold to someone who is going to run it in the championship
this year, and the proceeds have gone towards our latest championship
contender, a UK MK5 GTi Road car.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We plan to update our blog with progress reports of development on our MK5 GTI continues.
