Hi guys,

 Just had the monthly UK-MKIVS newsletter and saw the bit about you/us acquiring the 25th GTi anniversary register, and just wondered if there was any plan to do a similar one for the Edition 30?

I know the edition 30 are not individually numbered but it would still be nice to try and record as many as possible using chassis number and registration plate. I would be very interested in this and am willing to help out with any development work or maintenance that needs doing.

Yep we can sort something for this, but as the models aren't numbered it may be difficult to form a usable list?

Yeah identification is going to be the main problem.

Guess we will just have to use chassis number with maybe a field for registration plate as well (not sure on people's opinion on disclosing this sort of info)

They could then be ordered by UK-MKV's 30th Anniversary GTi Register Number. Was thinking of something like.

UK-MKVs Ed30 Reg Number         Chassis Number            Reg Plate (optional)      Colour               3dr/5dr      Owner               Location     

1                                                  VWZZ-xxxxx-xxx            VX07WZX                    Tornado Red      3            Joe Batchelor      Bristol

Would be also quite cool if we could somehow attach a photo to each record.

Thats looks cool to me, should be able to knock up a table to list the information.

Could include another column which has a link to a photo gallery (uk-mkivs hosted or other).

Would also be really good if we produced our own number plaques....  

Might putting names and locations not be a bit of a security risk?

It's only general locations i.e. town or county, plus the names are usually forum ones, or at least first names anyway.

Will make a start on this soon, shouldn't be too hard to setup. 

Will the GTI Edition 30 be a limited production run like the 25th Anniversary was?

Would help with knowing as it will no doubt affect how the numbering order will work.

Will post a sticky in the Mk5 forum to begin taking names. It's a shame VW UK won't be doing a numbering scheme again, makes it easier for us to add records

 A couple of things though, all of which im sure you are aware of:

- There are only 1500 Ed.30 being made (apparently)

- The link at the top of the register goes back to 25th edition thread 

Also, do u think we should have some field, such as reg plate or chassis number, which would uniquely identify car, so that a owner could track previous owner of car etc.
 

Yep it's 1500 from what I gather. I've only gone up to 100 for the moment as I'll add the rest as/when they're submitted.

Need to tidy up the links and create an intro page, don't worry it'll all look tidy when I'm done.
