this can be a number of things...

My own car has the same DTC which Im still trying to trace but only happens (seams to happen) in damp weather and on a sunday? I've carryed out alot of diag changed 02 sensors tryed AFM with on hope.

talking to the master tech a skoda and dub the first thing is to change both oxygen sensors which work out to be £90 eachTongue Tied

if this does not fix the problem there is an air leak after the AFM (air mass meter) which could be anywhere, most common on the AUM engine is the vaccum pipes and sensors under the inlet manifold and to the fuel pressure reg, if NFF Then you'll be start changing gaskets and pipes till the correct componant is found.

I know this is'nt aload of help but its just were to start as im still trying to get the fault to happen again after ive changed/ adjusted a couple of bits.

get your self a vaccum tester from helfords etc, 9 time outer 10 this will be an air leak than doesn't want to be found, i've had a couple in my workshop with this problem 02 sensors sorted them, but my own car is proving more troblesome.

More than likly the air leak will be from the pipes under the inlet manifold which you'll have to move the cover and metal plate.

Hi all I have been having trouble with the golf with DTC 17544 as you know &  found out the dam vac leak today its behind the inlet manifold ...

What I need is a pic of the rubber pipes that run into the inlet manifold please  & also the part numbers for them ...

& its not the Y shaped pipe thats leaking its 2 pipes with sort of got tape around it  ?

    Cheers

Yeah Mike its a pig to get to but its behind inlet manifold sort of near the dip stick area ...

I need to remove the metal assembly in front of manifold 1st but wanted to know exact part name & number of the pipe or pipes   before I go butcher everthing ....
