It looks pretty good for the cash, I cant see why it would be any worse than a Carbonio to be honest.

Hi ian,get that.It looks just the same as my carbonio,it should work the same(filter will be in the same place).

I think the main reason the carbonio is so fecking expensive,is that it's made of carbon fibre and its good heat resistance properties.

For that money it's gotta be worth a try,you would have £170 left over for the remap thenBig Smile

hi i bought the same kit off that guy a few weeks ago, fits good with all mountings and clips but doesnt include instructions but you'll work it out,its easy enough, dont really notice any difference with mine but ive not had it chipped yet,but it sounds good and you can hear the dumpvalve going off, well worth the money!

    I bought this very kit

a few minutes after fitting the engine management light came on and the car was coughing and spluttering.

vag comed it and an error code saying MAF signal too low, don't think the filter supplied is of good enough quality and was actually restricting airflow

will try it again when I get a better quality filter to put on the end of it.

put the standard airbox back on, cleared the the fault and it drived perfectly.

Hi i have a similar kit on my 4mo..........

Also got it from fleebay.......noticed a difference in sound and the car seem to breeth better, but iot wasnt an exact straight forward fit, and had to be modified a little, this mainly involved bending the metal peice into the correct place to locate on the car, as it appeared to be in totally the wrong place........

got one on my 1.8T, the bracket that secures it to the inner wing needed bending slightly to get it to fit but other than that its spot on

yep tim is right , i do have one of these and it does sound rather goodWink the only thing i would say is throw the filters away and fit a apexi filter instead  they are dry filters and wont kill your maf . you can get the apexi filter for about £20 off ebay Yes

ive got one too, running the K&N style filter that came with it, and after 8 months use so far, its not given the maf any issues, 4 months ago the car was remapped, and still ive got no issues.

that said, id idnt realise you could get dry filters so cheaply!

what size mouth do i need? is the pipe 3''? if theyre that cheap, i may get one and fit it when i whip the bumper off for my FMIC next weekend.

does anyone worry about it possibly getting a load of water up it coz of where its placed under the arch,i was quite nervous when i fitted mine especially with all these rains weve just had but it seems ok,if i do have to go through a puddle i slow down and dip the clutch untill im clear!

ive had this exact same filter on my car now for 5 months now without any problems, fitting is quite easy, just had to bend the little braket slightly to make it fit but that was all, sounds awesome , turns heads when you go down the road. car seams to pull a lot smoother too.
