    Guys,
Let me know if you want anything added to it!
    Paul
P.S. i hope it all works, lol

    Useful Guides:

    Posting Pictures/Videos/Links/Quotes: See here

    Adding a signature:

To add a signature, click the ‘User CP’ link at the top of the forum. This will then display all of the options that you are able to change.

The signature should be the initial box that you see.

    Adding images to your signature:

There are 2 ways that you can add images to your signature, and there are 2 options on how to do it.

You can have an image which is a link, and one which isn’t. And use HTML code, or using a URL.

If you want to use HTML, you need to put the following into the ‘Signatures’ box:

    Non link image: <img src="IMAGE LOCATION">.

    Linked Image: <a href="LINK DESTINATION"><”IMAGE LOCATION" border="0"></a>

Setting the border=”0” will take any border off of the image. If you take this bit out of the code, you will get a blue border around you image.

    The URL Code:

Non link image: IMAGE LOCATION" border="0" />

    Linked Image: [ URL=LINK DESTINATION][ IMG]IMAGE LOCATION[/IMG ][/UR L]

    Contributor Bar:

The contributor bar is related to how many posts you have… well, posted!

The more posts you add, the higher the contributor bar goes.

This is the blue bar which is shown under your avatar image

    Group Buys:

Anyone can arrange a group buy. There is a section for this in the Marketplace section of the forum. All you need is a supplier for the things you are selling etc

    Editing Your own Posts:

If you need to edit one of the posts that you wrote, go into the thread and find the relevant post, and click the ‘Edit’ button. You can then change the details of that post in the main box.

    Classified Ads:

If you have something you want to sell, or something that you want/need, there are sections in the Market place forum for this.

You need to write your post as you normally would, but when you click post, you will get a message saying that the post needs approving by an administrator/moderator. This is normal. You need to have a specific post count, which is dependant on which section you are putting the advert in to be able to post a for sale or wanted post.

A moderator will then approve/deny your post, and it will appear in the relevant section.

    Accessing your Private Messages (PMs)

If someone has sent you a PM, you can access it by clicking the ‘Inbox’ link at the top right hand side of the forum, underneath where it says ‘Welcome Username’

You can delete these by putting a tick in the tick-box and clicking the delete button at the bottom of the list.

    Sending Private Messages (PMs):

If you want to send someone a private message, there are a few ways you can go about it.

    1)      On one of their posts, there will be a box with the person’s username in. On here, these is a ‘Contact’ button, click this, and it will drop a list down or available actions. Click on the ‘Send Private Message’, and it will take you to the screen which you need to use to send them a message.

    2)      You can search for a user if you know their username. To do this, on the main forum screen in the top right hand corner, under the ‘Shortcuts’ section, there is an option for ‘View all users’. Click this link, and you will be taken to a screen which gives you a box for their username. Put in their username, the click the ‘Search’ button. You can also use * as a wildcard (as shown in my example). You then just need to click the ‘Private message’ button next to their username to go to the PM screen.

    Adding images to posts:

You can add images to your posts in a few ways:

You can host your image on a 3rd party’s site such as Photobucket. I find this the easiest way of adding images. When you upload your image, you will get a IMG code which you can just copy and paste into your post

You can also add an image as an attachment, but you can only add one image. To do this, click on the ‘Option’ tab when creating your new post, and click browse to select where your image is located.

    Reporting Abuse:

This function is particularly useful when you have posted a classified ad which you need changing. When looking at the thread/post, you can click this button which is in the Bottom right hand corner of the post in question. This will then bring up a ‘New Post’ window, which will be sent to the administrators/moderators when finished and posted

    Forum Subscriptions:

The forum subscriptions option can be found in the top right hand corner of the forum’s main screen.

Once you get into the page, you are able to click on the yes/no for each different section of the forum. If you have one of the options on yes, you will receive an email each time a new thread is created in that forum/section.

    More Options:

At the bottom of each Forum/section, there should be a ‘More Options’ button.

If you click this button, you will see some additional options that you change.

These include how the posts are sorted (author, date, topic etc et) You can also change whether you receive emails for the threads that you contribute to in this section.

    Mods/Admins:

    Listed here:

    http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/permalink/859978/861021/ShowThread.aspx#861021

    My Posts:

The ’My Posts’ section shows you all of the threads that you have contributed to. You cannot remove any of these posts.

This section/list can be found by hovering your mouse over the ‘Forums’ option at the top of the forum, and then selecting ‘My Forums’ from the drop down list.

    My Discussions:

The ‘My Discussions’ option is the same as using ‘My Posts’. This option is on the right hand side of the forum.

    Active Topics:

The active topics list will show all of the Threads which are active.

The most active topics will be at the top of the list and will go back up top the top of the list

This can be found from any forum page on the right hand side of the screen. You can also get to them by clicking ‘Active Topics’ from the drop down Forum list

Or you can use the 'Active Topics' list on the right hand side of the screen

    Unanswered Topics:

This section will show you all of the threads that have been added, but have had no reply to them

This can be found from any forum page on the right hand side of the screen. You can also get to them by clicking ‘Unanswered Topics’ from the drop down Forum list.

    Unread Topics:

This section will show you all of the threads that have been added, but you have not read.

This can be found from any forum page on the right hand side of the screen. You can also get to them by clicking ‘Unread Topics’ from the drop down Forum list

    Hiding Certain Forums:

If you want to hide certain sections of the forum, you have to click personalize at the top of the forum page.

You will then be able to select which forums are shown by clicking the yes/no option above the thread

You can also hide sections by using the 3 dots to the right of the forum name

    Searching:

You can do a search of the site or whichever forum you are in by hovering your mouse over the ‘Search’ option at the top of the forum, and putting your search terms in the box at the top of the forum.

You can also do an advanced search by clicking on the ‘Search’ option at the top of the forum.

    Marking threads as Answered/Not Answered:

To let people know whether the thread that you have started is resolved, there is an option which you can set.

To do this, on your original post there should be a drop down menu. If you click the down arrow on this box, you can select the status of the thread.

Linking to a specific post within a Thread:

To do this, you need to click the little paper icon in the top left hand corner of the page (see below). This will then reload the page.
Once it has reloaded, copy the link in the address box of your internet browser and use this as your link. This will then open the thread but go straight to that specific post.
