So after having the steering rack changed and complaining to VW UK numerous times about the steering wheel being mal-aligned, I decided to take matters into my own hands and get the suspension/geometry setup perfectly by an expert.

I went to Chris at Centregravity in Atherstone today and he spent the best part of 4 hours sorting out the 4 wheel alignment, camber, castor, toes front and rear. The experience was superb, apart from being a top guy (who blatently knows what he is talking about), once the car was optomised we went for a test drive and the results astounding. The car is planted at the rear and the grip levels have increased exponentially. The best £160 I spent on this car without a doubt.

Check him out at http://www.centergravity.co.uk/         SmileSmile

P.S. The steering wheel is now perfectly centred and the car will drive doughnuts around a factory setup. You can also ask him to make the back end as loose as u want and customise it as u choose!

     Hi,

Did the steering mis-alignment build up over time or did something happen?

It happened after my steering rack was changed under warranty by the muppets aka VW!

Is the GTI suspension more or less the same as GT/GT Sport TDi's?

Sounds like there is quite a lot of adjustment on the OE chasis set-up, I take it you aren't running upgraded kit?

Proper chassis set-up is so often over looked in pursuit of power and you see so many 'slammed' cars that clearly aren't riding and handling very well at all. My new car is definitely being booked in for similar treatment.

Shopping for 2.0 TDi to give to Allard to play with...
