     Cool so my clocks go to 160mph and the 1J0920926 only go to 140mph is this right?

    160 mph fella click on old_n07 signature on clusters everything you need to know is there.Yes

    Yeah i've read that but what im wondering is about the mph difference. My cluster goes to 160mph and the revs to 70

    the cluster im looking at on ebay with part number 1J0920926 only goes to 140mph but has revs to 70 like mine. Is this the right cluster or do i need one that matches both mph & revs?

    That would be this thread then Chuckle

    The problem will be because his clocks are none CAN and he is thinking of fitting a CAN based cluster, he will more than likely loose MPG and RPM functionality for a start especially as his car is petrol, the swap is a 50 50 bet on diesels but petrols have higher odds of it not working

     Cool so can i upgrade to immo3 cluster?

    I've seen a couple for sale on ebay with the following part numbers

    1J0920926

    1J0920906

    Would either of these be any good for me?

    For sure you will loose the comsumption signal which means MPG and miles to empty will not work.

    Also the airbag warning light will not work.

    Need some help with Vagcom check - Keys/Immobilser adaptation/defeat - Ecu/Cluster Swap - Miles to Empty - Illuminated Needles - Autowindows etc...?

     Do you have factory satnav Patch?

    As that coding (21) is Sat Nav (16) + Washer level (04) + Brake Pad sensor (01), if you don't the first two digits should be 05 Yes

    Here are all the coding values:

    Instrument Cluster Soft Coding

    ?? xxx  - Options

    +01 = Brakepad Warning active
    +02 = Seatbelt Warning active
    +04 = Washer Fluid Warning active
    +08 = Seatbelt Warning active (NAR only)
    +10 = Seatbelt Warning Driver & Passenger active (NAR only)
    +16 = Secondary Display (Radio/Navigation) active

     Add the values of all the installed options together and the total is the first two digits of the soft coding Wink

    xx ? xx  - Country

    1 = Europe
    2 = USA
    3 = Canada/Mexico/Latin America
    4 = Great Britain (GB)
    5 = Japan
    6 = Saudi Arabia
    7 = Australia

    xxx ? x  -  Service Intervals

    0 = fixed Service Intervals (PR-QG0) without Oil Level/Temperature Sensor
    1 = flexible Service Intervals with Oil Level/Temperature Sensor (PR-QG1)
    2 = fixed Service Intervals with Oil Level/Temperature Sensor (PR-QG2)
    3 = without Service Intervals (USA/Canada)

    xxxx ?  -  Distance Impulse Number (K-Value)

    0 = All Engines/Transmissions (Impulse via CAN)

    1 = 4345 Impulses/Km or 6991 Impulses/Mi
    2 = 3528 Impulses/Km or 5677 Impulses/Mi
    3 = 4134 Impulses/Km or 6651 Impulses/Mi
    4 = 3648 Impulses/Km or 5870 Impulses/Mi

     You will probably get a no comms error on the cluster about the sat nav with that coding Ray gave you because it can't talk to it (not there) but that's all

     Hi, My daughter recently sold a golf dash on eBay, she knows it was working fine when it was removed but the buyer say's it has a problem and the screen flickers.

    Below is a link to the video the buyer sent showing the fault, to me it looks like the dash is changing colour rather than flickering, does anyone know why it would do this?  The dash was from a 1.9 diesel.

    This was the dash she sent:

    http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/mill-autos/clocks.jpg

    And this is the video the buyer sent:

    http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/mill-autos/?action=view&current=22.flv

    The buyer seems genuine but I just wanted to check before refunding him.

    That technically is not a problem - the screen is not "flickering" as such - it is brightness adjustment. That brightness adjustment is based on the light sensor which is the little "O" just below the 0mph mark. You can clearly see it in the video. Half way through the video it actually looks like the constant shadowing / lighting from the tree is causing it to adjust.

    I have a Bosch cluster which if I boot up after say, a few minutes after it being switched off, or turning it on after a very long time (bench-test inside my home, not in the car) it will do this in the beginning - despite the fact that light conditions are stable, but slowly after a couple of minutes of being left on settles down and works normally.

    So in my opinion it's not neccesarily broken, especially as you say your daughter said it was working fine up until she removed it (assuming she knows what fine is, or can at least confirm it never behaved like it does in the video permanently whilst she had it installed in the car she removed it from).

    Retrofit := Armrest, Cupholder, MFA with lit-needles and MTE, MFA Stalk, Auto lock/unlock, Spare key, OEM style remote locking inc. flip and startable key
    To do := Install OAT sensor, Chrome rings
    Coming soon := New cluster needles

    Hi ppl

    Ok so the Im after enabling the MTE and Needles on  my Golf 02 GTI TDI PD150.

    I know the cluster is Immo 3 and is Bosch from the reading I have from VAG COM; Controller: 1J0 920 926 C,  Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRS. RB8 V21.

    Reading through the threads I can have MTE but not the the needles. Is they a VDO cluster for a diesel? if so whats the part number?

    If not, I take it the MTE is the same procedure as the VDO

    Cheers
