My car makes a horrible clattering noise when going over bump's something is definetly loose in the front.

Had teh car checked out everything seems tight, I am going to change the wishbones with the standard bushes already installed anything else to do at the same time??

anti-roll bar bushes could be causing that, you might aswell change them at the same time they are only a few quid

     Boyz.... and girlz....

I have been told to get my rear bushes axle bushes replaced on my MK4 GTTDI 130PS ASZ - however when I contacted AVS, they said as the ones on my motor are 69 mm, the vRS won't fit as they are 72mm. Can someone pls shed some light on other replacements .... will the Leon Cupra ones fit?? Thanks

The bush size on the 2wd MK4 is the same as the LCR and the Fabia VRS bush so it should fit Yes

thanks for the reply... still a little confused as to whether the vRS will actually fit my car as vwspares have checked against my chassis number and they say that only 69mm version sit on this car and NOT the vRS ones as they are 72mm

The ASZ engine was introduced in 04/2001 - looking at ETKA for 2000 - 2003 there is only one bush listed for the 2WD rear subframe - 1J0 501 541 C.

When you look at the bushes on VWspares web site, the two OEM 72mm bushes listed say they are to replace that P\N so you have a 72mm bush in the rear arm and the LCR \ Fabia bush will fit

Hi guys. Ive just had to ordered a new pair of front lower wishbones with bushes as my bushes are shot. I gathered that it would be cheaper to ask the garage to fit the new wishbones instead of having to pay labour for them to be removed and repressed etc.

VW quoted me £63.80 inc Vat each.... yet i noticed AVScarparts & GSF have them for around £35 inc Vat each.

From experience is it best for me to get the genuine VW ones or the supplied oem ones from AVS or GSF? I appreciate the main difference will be the bushes in this instance. Is there much difference here?

Eitherway, regarding new bolts & nuts am i right in thinking that only the following need to be replaced for the front wishbones?.... as when i spoke to VW they werent sure if the other fastenings to the hub ball joint needed to be replaced? Also is there no nut for the front bush bolt?

    Rear bush:

    N 102 622 01 bolt x2

    N 015 081 4 nut x2

    Front:

    N904 840 03 bolt x2
