Nice car you got there. Yes Thought about getting front areo wipers?

Quite like those rear lights, as my standard GTi ones look a bit 'brown'.

I'll keep my eyes open for you!!  I'm also driving a work in progress.  I've done a lot of cosmetic changes this year, but I'm leaving it until next spring to make some mechanical changes!

PS - Looks like your exhaust is squint! Wink

How on earth is your 1.6 making 125bhp?! (That's more than the 1.8na and 2.0 golf engines... Hmm Big Smile) Just from the Milltek and air filter?
The Bora is no longer a bouncy castle, but the driver is still wondering if a V8 will fit under the bonnet...

Haha, that's even better, does it feel particularly quick? I've heard that some of 2.0s produce more bhp than VW claim at about 130bhp (rather than 115), so I wonder if the 1.6s are the same...

I'm liking the look of the Milltek, I'll have to get me one, when I earn some £££s.

Yeah I guess it does for a 1.6, it pulls reasonably hard at about 4000rpm onwards.

I used to have a 1996 Rover 416Si (the newer one Stick out tongue) which was a 1.6 and the engine was great...if you revved it over 4000rpm it was pretty quick and sounded meaty, but below that it didn't really move. The Bora's 2.0 engine seems the opposite, the more you rev it the slower it goes (Confused), but it is pretty torquey and about as quick as the Rover...

Well thought I'd visit the local scrappy today and check out a few scrapped Bora's.

Managed to get this lot Yes

Unfortunately the plastic on the clocks was smashed but the foils etc are still intact so if anybody wants them or the whole clocks then make me an offer Yes

Also got the shocks and springs on and it handles miles better, I'll get some pics up at some point!

Yup. Looking to swap it for a BMC CDA soon and then perhaps a remap. Other than that I won't be doing anything else to it (engine wise anyway Chuckle)

ChippedUK reckon between 8-12bhp, it would be a lot more responsive and an other 1.6 owner with a ChippedUK map saw another few mpg Yes
