Well I've been on here for a while now, so I thought it was about time to do my build up post! Especially as I now have it looking how I've wanted it to look for a while. So I'll show you how its changed since owning it from Febuary 2007.

Here's a few pics of when I got it in all its standard glory:

The first couple of mods I did was to fit a Carbonio air filter, Forge 007p recirc valve, and a Forge carbon fibre engine cover:

The next few mods were some anniversary style headlights and a rear aero wiper:

After this I decided to go for german style number plates and surrounds (stubby aerial at some point as well!):

Then I ordered myself a genuine anniversary bodykit and got this fitted along with the Milltek anniversary style exhaust:

And then last weekend I applied the finishing touches and fitted some Oettinger RE 18" alloys along with some 40mm Eibach lowering springs... enjoy:

I really like how its looking now and don't think it will change much from now on. Other mods which aren't visible are:

    - Jabbasport remap to about 210bhp

    - N75J Valve

    - ECS Tuning lightened flywheel and uprated Sachs clutch

There is still pleanty more to do as always though and plans for the near future are:

    - Fit K03s turbo

    - Lupo mirrors

    - Us Spec rear lights

    - R32 steering wheel

    - R32 interior trim + door handles etc.

    - Coilovers at some point + rear ARB

    - Bigger brakes all round

A big thankyou to everyone that's helped me out with various parts and information up to now, and a very BIG thankyou to fellow forum member Alleyroo (Andy) for helping me over the time I've owned it (including the one time its let me down!), and for helping me fetch + fit the alloys and lowering it last weekend Big Smile

Is really nice that mate, and some really nice changes along the way, will look really smart with the planned US spec rears aswell, the only thing i would do is lower a bit more, the gap looks very big in them arches for a 40mm drop, lol.

Cheers for the positive replys - I would like it a bit lower, especially on the rear, but when the coilovers are fitted trust me it will be Cool

What you up to at the weekend mate? Thought we could get the wishbone sorted and polish the inlet manifold. Also we will give it a quick once over for the dreaded MOT, including fixing your dodgy reverse lights.

    That looks fantastic mate.

Absolutely love those rims too - they're different to anything else I've seen on a Golf and suit it perfectly.  I also think ya did the right thing by losing the pressed metal plates - looks much better on standard ones IMO.

Nice work - are ya planning on showing it off at any meets this year?

    Wigster.

Looking at the photos side by side and I agree that the standard headlights look much better dude, however I do want them back at some point lol. The car's looking spot on though mate.

The pics turned out much better than I expected too.

Cheers mate Big Smile I like how it is now, and as you say you don't see these rims very often. I did only take the german plates off for the MOT but after seeing the normal ones back on i think i prefer them as well!

I'll be at the usual shows this year in it yes - hopefully have a bit more done to it by then too, and i still want it lower all round Smile

Thanks mate Smile It's strange as anniversary lights was one of the first things i wanted to do to it - but looking back at the pics i really don't like them anymore! They just seem to make the front end TOO dark...

exactly my thoughts. I was in danger of making my car into one big black blob Big Smile

Ideally I'd have some OE Xenons but I think the chance of that happening on the cheap is next to nothing!
