I though it was about time I posted up about my new acquisition, so here goes.

Me and a couple of friends went on a road trip 2 weekends ago to look at a few cars and I ended up coming back home with this Bora:

So the spec of it as I picked it up is:

    51 plate
    52k miles
    17" long beaches
Black heated leather recaros front and back
Factory Sat Nav + Full FIS
    Climate Control

List of things I want to do:

    Cruise Control
3 Blink Indicator convenience module (maybe)
Xenon Headlights (may just go for HID's due to price!) - done (just HID's at the mo)
    R32 ARB's - done
    R32 suspension - done
R32 interior trim and peddles - done
    R32 Steering Wheel - done
BMC CDA induction kit - done
Miltek Cat Back system - done

There is other stuff I want to do as well but that all depends on funds:

Polished black centred Porsche split rims - got BBS CH's at the mo
    US spec. boot
Votex front bumper (maybe the rear as well if I can find them) - Bora R front bumper now with fogs
Black badgeless grill - got the grill, just need to get it painted now
Black mirrors, roof and B pillar's
Miltek sports cats and R32 manifolds
    Supercharger?!? Cool

Let me know what you think and any ideas you have Yes

    Quick Update

Well I have the R32 suspension and ARB's here waiting to be fitted and hopefully the Miltek is pretty much sorted, though I'll have to wait for that to turn up till maybe the end of April!

Just having a few things painted on the car which bugged me, a scuff on the rear bumper (Morrisons Car Park I recon Angry) and the boot as I wanted it debadged (keeping the VW badge) and also the edges of the boot had been buffed down to primer!

Should be picking it up tomorrow night all going well Yes

Does the R32 suspension just bolt on with out any modifications ? Are the spring rates the same ? Isnt the Bora heavier at the back ?

That will look spot on with the votex kit.  I`m trying to find a genuine votex front bumper but it`s almost impossible and don`t really want to go down the replica route.

    Looking goodYes

    Update

Had the day off today so thought I'd give the Bora a good clean, clay and wax.  Couldn't believe the amount of crap that came off when I clayed the whole car!  Got rid of all the tar spots I had on it too.  Also sorted out a few scratches that were bugging me too so I'm happier about the paint now Yes

    Anyway, here's some photos:

A few photo's I took tonight because I was bored Big Smile

Let me know what you think guys.

Car's looking good after the clay and wax, the colour's grown on me since I first saw it, probably because its a bit different. Gotta get onto the detailing section on here and find out the best way to bring my paintwork back to life....after having a bit sprayed at the front it show up the rest of the bodywork!

You had any luck tracking down a votex kit? Couldn't find one myself so got the GLI skirt instead, looking at getting the GLI rear and modifying it to fit the twin pipes on the V6.

No luck with a genuine Votex bumper yet, just replicas from Poland which don't look too bad and are fairly cheap, though they are made of GRP I think.

I also thought about the GLi rear and modifying it but I want it too look as OEM as possible so kind of decided not too.

What figures did you get back from the rolling road? Yours is still standard like mine engine wise right?

They couldn't get a figure out of it as they said the power kept moving to the back wheels or something, due to the haldex.  Weird as an R32 went on before me and was perfectly fine. Surprise

That does sound a bit weird! Does the R32 not have the same haldex set up being 4 wheel drive? Don't know much about them to be honest. I just assumed the haldex split power 60:40 or 70:30, something like that and it was permanent, not variable?

AFAIK the R32 has exactly the same haldex system,  so not sure what went wrong.  IIRC the Haldex works by detecting slip at the front wheels and pushing power to the back when needed, hence running in FWD in most normal conditions. Yes

I might see if TSR can have another go at rolling roading it or get AmD to do it when I pop up for my Miltek if I don't get it delivered instead.

Yeah thought about getting mine on the rollers at AMD after having the Miltek fitted....depends how the funds are at the time!

Or a before and after would be really good.

Here's my graphs from the rolling road, doesn't show much power though, but it's so smooth now.  Should hopefully be a bit more now its had a chance to adapt to the new map.

Rich i knew NA cars didnt take to remaps well but you only gained 9bhp with an exhaust and remap is that right? i thought figures of 15bhp gains were been mentioned by most companies?
