Dear all,

In preparation for our up coming site upgrade we've decided to relax the signature image rules currently in operation. The new signature sizes allow for a larger, wider image to be used while still retaining readability and visual uniformity while browsing the new forum layout.

New sizes are as follows:
Images - 1 image only, 400 X 125 pixel limit and file size not exceeding 75kb (click for example)
Text - No more than three lines of text of any font size. For text of font size 12 and above there is a one-line limit.

Any images observed to be over the limit will be removed. With exception to Tickerfactory.com images placed in Signatures, which aid forum events promotion etc.

This is an example of the new size. As you can see it's large enough to be visible while still keeping within the limits we have stated.

Please help to keep the forums looking neat and tidy by ensuring you keep to the sizes we have specified. Any that are observed to be over the new limit will be removed without warning.

Hmm, too high for my liking. I think something like 400 x 80 would be cool.

But the majority of forum users do seem to like mahoosive sig images, so I guess the majority of people will be happy. Can't please everyone eh Tabs!

Folks, it seems a few of you are aren't keeping to the size limits that we've asked, in particular those who are running banner sized images.

We'll shortly be doing a sweep of peoples profiles and removing any images which are too big.

If your image doesn't conform to the limits we've put in place please resize it.

 Amended mine, sorry Tabs. I'd used the MyBannermaker.com sigs that quite a few others are using, and thought the size was ok (but hadn't checked ).

Is there another site that can be recommended to new users (& new users of photographic sigs!) that works in a similar way (ie combines images, text, and effects) for those of us who aren't good at photoshop (etc)?!
