    Hello all,

Someone has done these before im sure. But anyways, I have for sale either blue or white LED alarm caps in 3 forms.

    Basicly there is:

    •        A DIY kit which, you will receive the cap, with led soldered ready with approx 20cm of cable so you can just connect on to the existing lead. just 2 wires!
    •        A pre-made plug and play kit. this wil get you a lead ready made so its just off with the door card un-plug the old an in with new job done. back on with door card.*
    •        A send away service, you remove your existing one, send it to me, and I will make up the new one and return it to you by 1st class recorded. Turn around will be approx 1-2 days Maximum.

     Prices:

    DIY kit: £6 delivered

Premade kit: £10, with a £2.50 refund when I receive your old one. (This is to keep the pre-made ones looking as OEM as possible)

Sendaway service: £7 you must send it either recorded delivery or special or other tracked delivery. to save mix ups basicly.

Sorry but I cant offer any discounts for multiple buys, just to save you time.

The LEDs are all in excess of 10000mcd for those intrested.

I will do my best to keep up with any big bursts of interest but please bare in mind I am doing this single handedly and my life does not revolve around my computer, but im sure you dont need telling that  :D

Payment would be prefered by paypal otherwise cash or cheque by snail mail would be fine, please allow clearing times on cheques though.

Please note: Laptop in picture is not included in any sale! Stick out tongue

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

Yes it is possible, you will need to run a 2 core cable from the existing one through the dash and into the opposite door to connect onto.

I recently got a set of two Green ones for a bit of a change from MarkMark4, they are great. He sent them quickly and they are well put together.

I've now fitted them both and I'm really pleased (they flash simultaneously) . I picked up 10m of thin 0.2 black and red wire from Maplin for £1.79 a bag, and obviously only used about 3m of each.

    Cheers dude !

there is a way to do it with out removing the door card, if your handy with a soldering iron and a flatblade screwdriver.

In which case you can buy a diy kit at £6!!  Cool

steal my idea why don't you Sad Keep your Corrado, otherwise a 1.8T will end up with the same plans done to it as I have for mine  Confused (except the alloys Zip it!)

Hi sorry missed that earlier, my bad!

I can supply some of them yes, the others are available on the internet but there are a few versions of them so I wouldn't like to say which ones they are without prising open a switch.

The ones in the bora vents I know I have 'co si keep meaning to change to shut position to blue but cant be arsed!

Its alot easier to change them in a fraud (ford) they about 90% of them 3mm leds, or at least in my transit!! lol.

If you get a chance to hoick a switch out and whip off the cover you will see in them 2 or 3 maybe little surface mount components about 2mm x 3mm and 1mm high, white and clear in appearance.  If you can get some more accurate measurements of these i should be able to find you some for your project!

If theres enough interest I can most probably do a group discount on these now, I will need a 10 unit order first.

They wont have to be same colour - I now have Blue, white and green with potential for pink, orange a brighter red, or if your into it UV Wink

Discounts will be posted up once I have some interest in list form.

    Any Takers??

I made up a how to guide a while back, you can find it here.

The plug and play ones will be £10 each unless you can wait to see if anyone else wants to take advantage of a group discount affair. I presume you are planning to put one in the passenger side too- if so you will need a length of 2core cable as well to route through to the drivers side door. Its not as bad as it sounds!!

    Hope this helps

     Hi Mark,

I could be interested in two of the brighter red LED versions (pre-made kits ideally). Don't suppose you have any pics of these vs. the standard LED?

vw in their ultimate wisdom used a whole array of different LED's in the switches, some are surface mount LED's, others are the traditional 3mm ones on legs... yes, i speak from experience!
