If you don't mind me asking where did you get from and how much, did you get a navigation dvd with it as well? All the czech units on ebay seem to have disappeared, I assume due to the police raid having cut off supply of new units.

Very clever - I bottled it and got the local ICE installers to do mine - did  you find somewhere clever for the SAT antenna as mine's on the dash? also does your allow postcode input as mine only does street names.

Where did you have it fitted Andy? I have had work done by Safe & Sound in Keighley and they did a good job but were pricey!

BeerNow thats a neat job.. I was worried the metal grill on the speaker wouldnt let the antenna work - but I assume it must be fine if you already had the other there.

Must see if I can relocate the antenna now..... Very useful cheers

They do a good job though, you can give them that.. I don't mind paying the money if the job is done right and so far they have never let me down.

[Thanks Andy, i was there.. What i quality atmosphere! I have never wanted to beat a team so much as scummy Leeds. It got to the point where i was nearly losing the plot.. Top quality job, looks a great bit of kit.

Just got to wait until I can justify getting one - maybe wait until the missus breaks her car again, so I can spend some money too!

Hi Blue, when you ordered your 30ED, did you have to spec any particular radio for the sat nav to work, or does it just connect to any golf gti. Also did you spec the high line computer?

It doesn't matter which radio you spec the car with because you're going to be removing the radio when you install the Nav unit.  It'll work in any Mk V Golf, not just the GTI.

Thanks Burble. My next question is where can i buy these from and how much? And would prefer a proper shop, no just a lone seller fromt Ebay, if that makes sense. Thanks again.

This is a must if you are thinking of getting Nav at a later date.

Think it's a £40 or £50 option but also comes if you spec the MFSW.

yeh, getting the info on the highline is very Cool, tells you direction to go in nav mode, and also give you name of the road etc  , i also now have the version 3 disc so now the postcodes work too

Mine came from eBay back in October last year so they were very rare on there at the time.  From memory I paid about £1000 from a guy in Holland.

Since I installed the 510 I've not used my TomTom in the R32, but I did have a seperate speed camera warning thingy anyway - I've got a Pogo Alert which is great.  It is nice and small and I've hardwired it into the car (the device is easily removable).

Very tempted by one of these but given that I could remove one in less than 5 minutes I worry about the theft risk. Think I'll wait till they are a bit cheaper.

    Blue:

I have the VW sat nav already but if I bought this latest one would it be like plug and play? also would I lose any steering wheel button uses? or MF display info?

I had a play with one down at the dealers in a toe-rag! lovely piece of kit then started thinking I want one!

    OFF TOPIC (ish)

I've just got the new 'road angel connected' and its great - just hope more people buy it so the active site information is more useful :)
