Hi guys and girls a little bit of help if possible

A friend of mine is looking at an anni front brake set up and has been offered the following at reasonable prices

The calipers are AMK, the disks are Quinton Hazel and the pads are Mintex

I know mintex are ok pads as I have them myself but I've not heard of the rest of the stuff is it any good or should it be kept away from?

    Cheers All

gti calipers are the same, the anni just had caliper carriers, which spaced out the caliper so you can 312mm discs. Quinton Hazel are are a well known brand, pretty good stuff. Usually known as QH on there blue and red boxes.

AMK sound like after market calipers although they could be who supply calipers for VW.

The calipers are not needed really, just the discs and as said above the 312mm carriers.

Pity a cheap source of these carriers never came up, they would sell like hot cakes.

Not a problem i remember seeing them whilst browsing.

I take it with these carriers then the normal GTI calipers can be used with the 312mm discs?

Yea your right mate, and you get the bonus of being able to choose your own discs instead of getting locked into whatever discs come in an extortionately priced carriers+calipers+discs combo as sold on ebay and by various other vendors!

Cool, thats the size i want not sure if i will be able to afford the real deal though. i think the 18's would look big enough on the golf.

Yeah i think they do, i got mine second hand for £620 they have been painted shadow chrome. I always wanted black rims on my silver car. They need a refurbishment now. Might do them silver, dunno tho? They came with 4 good tyres then two new spare 18's got them from ebay i think the colour put people off. I also last week got a spare brand new ish 18 ch for £120 as a spare
