Hi all. I've a 2003 Golf GTI 1.8T that I needs servicing and a cam belt doing. I've had enough of Citygate VW so I'm looking for a good independent garage to do the work in the West/North West London area.

Any of you have somebody you'd recommend?

I've asked this a number of times and have concluded there isn't one! In the end I've just gone to Formula One in Harrow and I'm fairly satisfied. 

 If you live near the A / M40 its worth an hours drive to APS, thats what I do.....

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm right between the M4 and A40 so that's not a problem. Guess there's an opportunity there for somebody to start a good independent in West London.

 I dropped into YAASH motorsports recently. They specialise in VW/Audi.

Dipesh is the guy I spoke to. He seemed decent. I haven't had anything done to my car there yet, but I may well do in the future.

I was bored one day so had a look in the "yellow pages" of Performance VW magasine. Went round there on a flying visit and spoke to the guy there. He had some interesting VWs in there for turbo conversions etc.

He seemed like a good guy, plus I was able to negotiate a discounted labour rate of £40/hr!

 This fella is an former VW/Audi technician.. started up his own place. Not had any work done myself but worth a call. Very helpfull fella when i asked for advise when i changed my pully belt & tensioner.
