Here is my Golf GTI 1.8T for sale http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/506221.htm I cant stress how nice this car is both condition wise and to drive. It seems such a shame to get rid, my dad bought it having not known about the apparent damage. I thought about being a illegitimate child and trading it in but guilt got the better of me. It would be perfect for a runaround or anyone who wouldnt care about it, what do you guys think about it? We paid about 3.5k about a month ago which I thought was cheap.
What is a rippled floor pan? Have you had any quotes to fix it?
id say the price on piston heads is about right..to redo the floor plan your looking at about..id recond 7-800£ but its a major part of the structure of the car, and the car has defo been invoved in an accedent at some stage. maybe if you priced it up...might make more money by stripping it down? as the body looks in good nick and all the interior? i dno just my 2pnc.
(if you do strip it..id have the stearing wheel
Shotgun wood trim!
I thought about breaking it but seems too much hassle. Ive had two people ringing up saying they will happily collect it at 1400. Not sure whether to accept that because I know its probably worth much more in parts and could probably be fixed for not much and a big profit made in the long run.
Breaking is hassle. I got an offer for a Vectra for a tenner, and i thought about breaking it, but it is a pain!
I would get some quotes to fix it, see if you can do a cash deal with them, then wait for the perfect buyer
yeh just see how much it is..and as for getting insured on it, why nt put it on ur name but add ur mum as a second driver, she duznt have to drive it just brings the quote down. or just keep the car in your mums name and get insured as a named driver! that might help?
id go speak to a specialist/ Vw to repair the floor plan.
