    Hi all,

Have read lots on this, and am still a bit confused as to which is the best way to wire this up.

I have seen the Help guides, which tell you to go through the Loom under the Glove box and into the Engine, and also one that says, to go from the Engine into the Glove Box, and by removing Glove Box you can see the Wire, and also one that said if take the battery out in Engine bay, can do it that way. Now, they all seem good ways to do it, but was wondering which was the best and what most people did on their MKV

    Cheers in Advance

I had a car audio center do mine.  They told me that going through the existing grommet with a 40guage cable wasnt a good idea.  They drilled a new hole and sealed it etc.  Put it through the bulk head for me for £45.  Well worth spending the money id think...

    Cheers lads,

Yeah, on my old MKIV, I drilled hole from the Engine bay into car behind glove box, but don't really want to do this on new Motor.

I have decided to go with Removing the Battery, and feeding it through that way, does anyone know or have a link to a guide for removing Battery on an MK5

    Cheers

    Cheers for everyones help

I eventually tried it myself with good Success

Basically, I Pulled away the Foam bit from the plastic grate that runs across the car under the wind wipers, which then allowed me to lift this up a bit, and if you look in, you can see a Black round Grommet, which you need to pull out, and behind is a hole with some foam covering it, which you need to attach your cable to a pen or something and push the foam out of the way and through.

Then, following a Guide on here, I removed the Glove box by undoing the six screws inside the glove box, mostly along the top, then you have a last screw to undo, which is behind the plastic covering above the ashtray, this simple clicks off, you will need to jimmy a key or something in the top and clicks out then quite easily, behind here at the bottom on the left, is a screw to take out.

Once done this, then the Glove Box will come out easily if you wiggle it, be sure to unplug the glove box light cable, which can be done by taking out the covering on the left hand side of glove box and the skirt between the passenger door, then can get to glove box light. There are also a few cables once you have jimmied the glove box off that need to be unplugged, so keep note of where they go once unplugged.

Once the glove box is off, just need to find the wire now, get someone to wiggle it through from the grommet in engine bay and eventually should see it.

Then just pull it through, now you can attach you other Amp cables from Stereo and feed the cables through the skirting on the passenger side of car. You can lift the rubber bit up on Skirts and then pull the Skirt off, all the way down side of car and into boot.

Once in boot, I grounded the Amp using the Seat belt Metal holder in the centre of Back seats, you can pull the plastic covering off, and there is a Torq Screw to undo and fit cable on there.

Rest is all simple as in attaching cables to Amp where needed and Sub.

Then lastly, attach Amp Cable to Positive on Battery and away you go, although I had real trouble with the Screws on battery, as they were bent and totally cross threaded, so had to use new screws, but all works great now

    Cheers again for eveyones help
