    As above...

    What do you think...

First impressions are one bounce not three, A little harder ride or is it more road feed back from the car / steering.

Car feels lower to sit in or is it cos i've been driving a 1.2 Polo... Will see. Well pleased with the look of the car. As for warranty work they did...

    1. 24K6 Recall

    2. Front strut top mounts and bearings fitted... Due to creaking

    3. Front wheel bearings fitted... Due to noisy Taken from the workshop print outs...

    Tech said..

1 Had that done last may as well. ???

2 & 3 were done cos it's out of warranty soon and more of a precaution rather than needing it done.

Still All free so no skin off my nose.... Some more...

    That looks very sharp fella.

Just looking around at Eibach Sportline springs myself, but obviously I would be putting them on my poor little TDI - not GTI. Just wondering though, you mention a 25mm drop but it looks pretty slammed - how big are your alloys?

Just found Eibach Sportline Springs for 108 GBP including VAT and delivery - but I am just wondering what it would cost to get them fitted? Don't have the right tools to do this myself so the cost of installation would be a definate factor.

lovely car mate, i'm new to this, help me out if you can, your GTI has an original drop of about 30mm (I think) so to get a further 20mm do you order 50mm drop springs or 20mm? sorry if dumb question

I am sure i have asked this before but i can't remember the answer so i will ask again, are you using your OEM dampers with after market springs to lower your car? I once did this with my old Golf GT TDI PD 130 and the shocks were shot within a few months..

As per an original question asked earlier - both cars here have standard sport springs right? Do the sportline springs replace these in full or do they come on top of OEM alterations? In this logic Eibach Sportsline springs with a 30mm drop would lower a GTI or GT lower than a standard S/Match correct? Finally, what size alloys do you guys run? 18"?

Excelent, thanks fella. How much did it cost approximately to fit these springs? Am thinking £100 or so?

DO the 170 GT sit lower than the 140 GT on standard springs?

just looked through a VW brochure for the specifications

the unladen weight of the 140 GT is 1281kg, the 170GT is 1293

they both have a gross vehicle weight (unladen weight+ occupants and luggage) of 1870kg

so i'd expect the cars to have the same suspension set up and the the same results when fitting the sportline springs

the small difference in the unladen weights would make the ride heights identical in both cars and could be made up from eating more doughnuts and burgersBig Smile

the other question about using standard dampers with new lowered springs

don't do it with a car that has done over 55-60k, it's a false economy

on the other hand on a MK5 with relatively low miles I decided to take a chance on the standard Sachs dampers and can honestly report an allmost standard ride comfort

might be different if the car was being lowered over 40mm
