Got my new Ed 30 last Thursday. The guys at Superchips took the bluefin unit I had on my 2.0 TDI 140 (it was just (52 weeks old) under a year old) and reprogrammed it for my ed 30 - the cost just post and packaging ~£9 top guys, now that is what I can great customer service.

Installed on my ed 30 this weekend and it is awesome, I only have 300miles on the car so still taking it very gently, but basically as stock up to about 2800 rpm and then from this onwards the surge of power is fantastic.

Makes overtaking an absolute breeze. This is a very smooth map and initial impressions are that it is highly professional upgrade that provides supercar overtaking performance but in a very smooth controlled manner.

It feels similar in overtaking peformance to my tuned 993 (325bhp, 400nm normally aspirated, 0-60 4.8s, vmax 175mph - tested at elvington using ax22 datalogger) but delivered in a very progressive way. Exactly what I was looking for, 911 performance but in a Golf GTI package I am one very happy customer.

No affiliation just a happy customer who has got exactly what I was looking for.

I liked the BF on the 140, made it more alive, but it didn't have the gut wrenching torque of my previous Mk IV 150 which had a chip which took it about the same BHP ~170 / 180. The BF on the 140 multiplies the acceleration by about 1.5x std and also gives it much more pull on hills, again very smooth and linear but no feeling that you better hang on because it will take off, this was the feeling on my Mk IV HTH

Therefore, would you recomend just getting a normal remap as opposed to a bluefin for a GT TDI, yot get that "pull, you had better hang on" feeling?

Hi - yeah Im in the same position m8, had my previous GTI BF'ed and then had it reset for my new ED30. But that cost my £180 to have it reset... Not fussed though cos its worth every penny.

I just run it in for 1100miles, so now just starting to play with higher revs. The difference between half (running in) throttle and full throttle isnt a big as I thought it was going to be, but the pick up from 4000rpm in 3rd is unreal! mu with only 1100 miles its still as tight as a ducks arse.

for sure m8. take them up on their 7 day money back deal; you wont be disappointed. Ive had 3 cars bluefinned now; 2 GTI's and a Mondeo ST TDCi. The increase of power + torque on the oil burner Mondeo was amazing. Not as much as he ED30, but for £500 its a steal. And their customer service is nothing short of perfect.

VW4 I would go for the bluefin, the better hang on was on the 1.9 TDI 150 engine and more a feature of the engine than the map, (so I understand from others, maybe a tuner could chip in here?) .

Maxitrol, I would def get my car chipped, as far as which tuner you should research and make your own choice. I would go for one that has a more sympathetic map as less wear on clutch / transmission but you pays your money and takes your choice. The one thing I would agree with buzzw4 on is I have never come across cust service as good as the Superchips guys.

Buzzw4, I have only 400m on my ed 30 but try her in 4th or fifth and when the turbo spolls up past 3.5k rpm sweet jesus the pull is awesome.....
