I'm looking at getting new 18's on, i have always thought i'd like to get the monza 2's, but i'm worried that they look too bad when scuffed on the diamond finsh, and in that case i thought of getting the solitude R32 alloys on, so i can atleast spray over any scuff marks, only thing is, that i just see them as R32 alloys, so will it do my head in having them on??
i'd like to stay oem, but would put something else on if i liked it enough
    i'm just not sure!?!?!?!?
anyone got pics of a gti with r32 rims on it?
    any input appreciated

You will need to tell us what you got first.

mk4, bora etc  are pcd 5x100 et 35 (ish)

    Mk5 platform 5x112 et 49 ish...

    aspect ratio on 18's about 40, 19's 35

width all depends on the width of the wheels.

Can't go wrong with BBS RC's, CH's, LM's, Callitos etc...

     see the sig -

    Golf V
    1.9 SE TDI
    105Bhp
    United/Steel Grey

Soon to take shape as a GTI replica?!?!?!?

Do you want it to be a 'faithful' GTi rep or do you want it to look like a modded GTi? Personally, I would get the body kit of the GTi and then have some 'alternative' wheels and one or two other tweeks to make it look like it was a GTi but has moved on a step or two!

You will be wanting a 5x112 pcd.

If you get a wheel that is off a Mk5 Golf or current A3 / A4  you wont go too far wrong, but I am sure that somebody will offer the correct PCD and the permissable variations.

If I had a mk5 it would be these, no question.

Thes BBS come up quit cheap on ebay too (very lightweight).

Or for a complete bargain there are these BBS Calitos on ebay at the moment for £400 new - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-A4-A6-A3-VW-SEAT-New-Alloy-Wheels-Alloys-BBS-18_W0QQitemZ300239546242QQihZ020QQcategoryZ28648QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Yeah, I've got them Callitos on my A3, (Needs a little lowering mind), possibly soon to be put on my Mk4.  They are a very nice wheel.

But yeah, you can't really go wrong with a set of BBS rims.  Looks so good on any VAG car.

Yeah, very good.  There are a few sets for sale around at the moment.  I was 430 inc. p+p.  Can't complain for a full set of new BBS splits.  Audi want about 650 each for them.

I'm half considering a second set depending on how well they look on my mk4, lol.

what rims are the ones on the black golf above?? i really like them!!

R23;- not really sure, about where to go with conversion, all i know is i love the look of the gti!, was thinking about starting with r-line emblems on the back and front grill instead of gti as a start, what else could i do to make it look like a better gti!?!?!?!?!

the wheels on the black car are, I am lead to believe, actually Speedlines that Audi use as std / optional fitment on some current A3's & A6's (havnt seen them on A4's). I think that they are 8x19s so the tyres wont be particularly cheap.

For 'improving' on the GTi look, colour coding the GTi rear bumper like the Ed30 is good.  How about the ABT styling instead? Just have a traul through the posts of members rides and see what takes yer fancy. Have you considered changing to Xenon lights? That improves the looks and serves a purpose!

Problem is that the GTi is a fine looking car to star with...

yeah i get you, i have xenon look bulbs, cant really afford full xenons at the moment, i'm on the look out for projectors tho at least, i've already got a gti rear valance and am going to have it smoothed down and a twin outlet exhuast fitted!!!

i may be getting some oem mint r32 rims with 6 week old toyo tyres on them for a good price, so am waiting on the decision about them now!

good start! Nearly always a trade off between what you want and what is available when you get second hand.

There is a pic on the forum somewhere of a light metalic blue R32 rep, which was a tdi, but the guy deliberately didnt do it too faithful (ie kept the black door handles andno R32 badging). That was an interesting take, more of an 'inspired by...'

    Keep us posted.
