Well I'm still on my quest to find the right wheels for my car, anybody have any idea where I can get hold of some 17 inch OEM VW ClassiX or VW BBS Madras rims? I haven't even seen any replicas around.

I've tried VW accessories too but no luck, anyone have any ideas where these are available?

I would say ebay is the best bet for a set of Classix's, I'm also looking for a set, they seem to be fetching about £400 a set on ebay, but it is dependant on the condition of the wheels and tyres.

Personally I'm not a fan of the Madras wheels on a MK5, I think they look better on the Passat. (From what I can remeber they are quite a 'rare' wheel, I think they were only ever fitted to the W8 Passat, but I may be wrong?).

    Cheers

Keep an eye on German ebay, but bear in mind that the exchange rate is crap at the moment so don't expect any bargains.

One problem with the Madras wheels are corrosion. I've not seen a second hand set that don't have at least some corrosion on them for a very long time.

Madras? That's a curry isn't it? Does anyone have a photo of these 'Madras' wheels?

    Yes

The Madras wheel looks nice. However, I'm holding out for the Vindaloo -  22 inch is the rumour I've heard.

Brian.. It's not Vindaloo you want, they can cause serious damage.. It's the Dansak's you want!!

Thanks for the advice Aiden. I may just have a mild upgrade to the Korma instead.

Personally i would avoid the Madras as they have a terrible problem with corrosion as someone has already said, they are probably the wrong fitment and offset anyway. I would think Classix would be more and more common on Ebay what with GT Sport being such a popular model now.
