Well over the next month or so as time permits, my car will undergo quite a bit of work.

    It started off like this..

and then these came in the post..

So then it looked more like..

    modded badges...

a set of lovely HIDS (thanks to HIDS4u!)

and then one of my more important changes... a new turbo! no upgrades, just a replacement, along with super shiny inlet mani and EGR valve (thanks fenwick!) all gets fitted on Wednesday.

Next to come is 312mm brakes. I bought a bran spanking set up of golfturbo, I'll be getting hubs from scrappers tomorrow hopefully. Then once the brakes are fitted it's a trip to AMD for lowering, ARB's and remap...

Oh and last weekend, I got bora vents and aero wipers for 40 quid from the scrappie Big Smile

    Watch this space!

I would do the brakes a NICE silver to help contrast with the centre cap rings

and add some color to the wheels

Hehe! Already got plans for the calipers.... all will be revealed soon.

PS. Any rear 256mm set ups going cheap would be great!?

Wooooo unique is what I was after!

Today my EL wire has arrived, keep watching to find out where I stick it.

I've now got my car booked in at a local VW specialist to get the 312mm brakes sorted on the 9th. Only thing is I need to find hubs by then! Steves dismantlers wanted 80 quid a side which I refuse to pay....until I'm desperate!

    Thanks for the comments!

try www.247spares.com for the hubs, you should be able to get them for under 100quid. any hubs from VAG cars that used the 312mm brakes will fit on fine.

I have hubs from an S3/TT and you will have to fit a washer under the nut of the bottom wishbone to be able to pull it up enough, as far as i know you only have to do this "mod" on hubs that have cast wishbones as standard and things like the R32 and 4MOTION will be fine with prssed steel wishbones.

Hubs are in the bag! Thanks Patch!!

Sure drop us a PM Joe and I'll sort out some pics etc for you.

On another note....whats the going rate for 256mm calipers, pads and discs? I asked at Steves VW dismantlers while I was there and they said when they do turn up they'd want around £250!!

yeah the 256 vented rears setup from a 2wd is pretty rare, hence the price is quite steep considering.

they don't do alot for extra braking power, more commonly people will just upgrade for looks.

i only did mine because i happened upon a full set up from an octy VRS for 300quid. (that was pads/discs/calipers/carriers/lines/splash guards f and r)

Indeed I was just doing the rear for the sake of it, but not at that price!

Personally I think it's a rip off as for a bit more I could get 256mm on the rear brand new!

Sounds like you got a steal! Just wish I could of found something much cheaper.

I think I love your car lol.....

It is exactly what I would love mine to look like but in silver... Hopefully when I have had the centers of my BBS RSII's powdercoated in black it will look similar to your wheels... Mine will have a gunmetal lip though....

Black is not for me... It would drive me mad showing all the scratches and dirt etc. I dont have enough time to clean the car constantly either....

Awwww thanks, I'll set up a sponsor a car scheme if you like. You send me money and I send you fresh pictures every month, a newsletter of what it's been up to and once a quarter you will get a old part from it!

I'm really not keen on silver, it's so boring to me, but black is very annoying at the moment. I cleaned it on Wedsnesday as you see in the pics but a few hours later and 30 miles it was covered in road dust.

I mainly choose a black car as it's a easy to style colour matching wise.

Only thing I wont be able to afford yet is getting tinting done and US spec rear lights.

    lol damnit!

I reckon for the time being I'll just paint my standard calipers so it all matches in, just keep a eye out for 256mm if they come up cheap.
