Well, unless i am blind, I cant seem to find a Mark Forums read button anywhere.

Reason I as is that I have over 2000 pages of unread posts, probly dating from when the site began, which are old threads etc.

How do I mark the topics/forums read so its easier to keep track of posts that have been made through the day?

    Chris

    Chris

That is the first thing I thought when I started using this site... Ive discovered its not like other forum softwares and It doesnt have it. You just sorta, keep checking the active topics list.

If Im wrong and there is a "mark forum as read" feature, (so it removes it from active topics until a new post) I'd love to know.

Yeh, the unanswered and unread posts.

I really want them all removed so when I return to the site, i can see what unread new posts I have to have a read.

Yes there is a "mark all read" button", I use use it all the time.

At the bottom of each page (on the LHS) is a "More Options" button, click it and you will see a "Mark all read" button.

I see it, its under the forum option, where all the threads are listed.

In my eyes, a bit pointless, as I dont really want to read all the new posts/threads since my last visit, so I would have to go into each forum (a lot of them) to mark them all read.

Why isnt there a one on the unread topics/posts button at the top.

    Would be ALOT easier.

TBH Chris, with how many posts get put on here anyway it wouldnt be long until before you had 100 posts in the list each time anyway.

If you want to see just the posts that you havent read, you can use the 'Unread Topics' option from the forums menu, but again this wouldnt clear itself out when you have visited

Thats a fair comment Pauls1820VTGolf but it would be alot easier if we could mark all forums read after our visit, it would be easier to manage what posts we have read, need reading and which contain new posts.

Just a suggestion that this button could be placed on the site to make it more 'User Friendly'.

I've just found a button to mark all forums as read.
Its on the main forum page in the 'Shortcuts' section in the top right hand corner of the forum.

You could use this button, and then change the more options in your most used forums to only show posts that you have not read.

You can find details on the more options in the forum userguide here: http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/158035.aspx

    GREAT!!!

Glad a feature has been added and the leaders of the forum listen to its members, unlike most other forums.

Otherwise, i was just missing that button altogether.
