     hi all,

    seen this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TDI-PD-Tuning-Chip-VW-Beetle-Golf-Jetta-Transporter-Fox_W0QQitemZ200235793503QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200235793503&_trkparms=72%3A636%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1308

what do you all think? is it worth it?

for £25 i think its worth a shot, and it looks original due to the same fittings as vw use,

if any one has had any experience of this type of product or what it does to the car to get that extra bhp please let me know,

plus also is it going to blow the engine up if fitted!!!?

    thanks all

    regards jon.

this is one of those things that everyone has said before to stay away from they simply dupe the engine into thinking somethign that s not really going on and messes up things.

I say avoid, do a search and youll find a thread where someone cracked it open to find a variable resistor inside.

they normally make the engine overfuel by making it think its colder than it is would be like keeping the choke on in a petrol!! more smoke and not much performance i would guess

Defiintely a NO, steer well clear of them, they are nothing more than a resistor in a fancy looking box.

If you want to go down that route then Invest in either a remap or a high quality tuning box.

That's the exact one a forum member cracked open about 6 months ago and found the resistor buried in plastic resin.  I can't believe the guy is still selling those. He must be raking it in.

i have a friend with a plug and play box on his corsa cdti an it claims 32bhp but when it was tested on the rolling road it had only put out 7bhp. waste of money if you ask me.

Look out for a propper tuning box if you want something you can remove when you sell it.

I picked up a dragon performance box worth 300 quid for 80 on flea bay.  Bloke i bought it off had it fitted to a Passat, it's got 16 settings, but i just stuck it in as was set, haven't looked at it since.

Get a remap, had it done in my transit van, and the difference is immense.

My bro is having his gt tdi done on wednesday at AMD of next week.

Aye twas me that cracked open one of those boxes only to find looks of resin and a resistor.

Yes it improved my MPG and gave me more power but at what cost?

Can't wait until Wednesday for AmD to remap me
