Up to 40mm drop you've got no worries over that i think you have anti roll bar rubbing issues at the front.  Which if you're going coilover route I assume you're gonna slam it.  When I fitted my kit, it was pretty straight forward (managed it in the street without a garrage but I haven't got coilovers).  There is a really good install guide on vw vortex website.

I think you have to buy new ones.  Which must be a slightly different shape to avoid rubbing,  There is a how to guide section on this forum somewhere too, somebody must have covered the arb issue.  Depending on the age / mileage it would be worth replacing top mounts, bushes etc etc, it's the kind of job you don't want to repeat.

Hi Ben, great name by the way.  Welcome to the forum.

I have Jamex coilovers on my TDI (adjustable) and have them at about a 45mm drop (I think, I've changed it a lot!) - £300 from ebay.  Very pleased with them & a friend (and fellow member) has them and is pleased too.

I just fitted them and that's it.  No issues with the ARB or anything.  I did do new top mounts at the same time.

Next time you're outside, just take a peak under the car and look at how low the sump is - be careful how slammed you have it.  I am currently driving round with a cracked sump (a very minor one) and I got that at my current amount of lowering.  I'm not a mental driver, it just happened!

    TDI Torque with added Quattro!
