Not too sure mate, some Insurers require you to be atleast 21 to drive a car like the GTI.

I've just turned 21, with 1 years NCB and an IN10 Conviction and I'm paying £1,200 Fully Comp on a GT TDI 150PD (2002).

IN10 = Conviction for driving a vehicle without proper insurance.

Did a 2 month ban in 2006 for it.

There's absolutely no chance they will insure your mods for a reasonable price. I wouldn't even bother entertaining high street insurers, try Greenlight, Adrian Flux and a few more specialist insurers if your planning on modding.

you'll struggle i'd say. I was looking at TDI originally thats with 1yr NCB and 3 years on a motorbike that they took into account to and i think that was nudging around £1000

So i went for 1.6 16v S for a while till i build up a few more years NCB

I think if you get another yr no claims under your belt you shouldnt have no prob.

I have ANNI GTI 5yrs no claims paying £730 fully comp.

Try elephant. And add your parents/relatives as named drivers. I will have 1yrs no claim next month when i renew. im 20 and fully comp for 10 months is 900 quid. The excess however is high but i would prefer this to get cost down as i would not hesitate paying the excess if i needed a new car.

thats quite good, how much is your excess? i suppose £400 wouldnt be bad for me as the higher the excess the cheaper the quote, i have tired bell, admiral etc but i havent addded any of my parents on yet , is it better to do both or just 1?

Im 26 , have been driving for 10 years in the US, but just got my UK license, and Im now paying 730 for just (3rd Party) on a 1999 2.0 Gti (insurance group 10)  with KwikFit, which was the cheapest I could find., When I was looking at different insurance quotes, I could not believe what some of these places were trying to charge me. I also found out how much a difference it makes depending on your postcode. Cities being basically double for me what a countryside address would be. For example, I looked at what fully comp on a 2000 4motion would cost me in Manchester, and on one website (AA) they wanted something like 4 grand.

The Insurance game is a big scam, just try and look around. Im still trying to get my head round how it works.!!!!!
