FOUND The PROBLEM.. at long last..

Firstly, a MASSIVE BIG UP to MO!!

What a Diamond he is, for his Vagcom and knowledge, Well I met up with Mo on Tuesday evening, Mo went though the engine bay, checking all hoses were on, cleaned on the sensors, and Vagcom on the car, which there were two faults,

Firstly the Lambda sensor was playing up and the Temp Sensor also shown up as a fault, Mo cleared the faults, like you do, we went for a drive and then rechecked, but no faults were found this time around.

Buy the now it was around 10pm or so, plus Mo had to shoot off, so we left it as that, Mo advised he will vagcom again on Thursday.

SO last night met up with bad boy Mo!! lol.. and had another look on Vagcom. again the only two faults that shown up was as follows..

    Address 01: Engine

    2 Faults Found:

16514 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Malfunction in Circuit

    P0130 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

    01252 - Fuel Injector for Cylinder 4 (N33)

    29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent

So its look like me investing me a new Lambda which from dealer is £82 plus the dreaded VAT!

Also if anyone knows which one is the Fuel Injector for Cylinder 4, is it on the left or right as from the front of the engine bay?

Will order a new Lambda today and be fitted tomorrow, So buy tomorrow after all this time, of searching for fault my Vdub will be finally back to full bad boy full power again!

    Well I bloody hope so...

All down to my new good mate MO!!!!

So all you lot but your hands together for MO!!

At long last mate good to here it.

Lambda's are easy to fit and you'll notice your power back when you've changed it as i had one go twice on me when i had me golf.

As for the cylinder 4 fault it sounds like the coil pack could be knackered, i had one go before and it is rare that they go. They're around £25 from GSF.

Best way to check is to undo the bolts that hold the coil pack down, turn the engine on and lift the coil pack. you should here a ticking noise where the coilpack is trying to create a spark and the engine note should drop and shudder slightly. If nothing happens e.g. no ticking or engine note change then its knackered.

     Cheers mate!!

Well, I did clean the spark plugs on Wednesday and I did notice on of the coilpacks had spilt around the bottom of the rubber! didnt think much of it..

so this could be the dodgy one!!  Will check on saturday as well..

Could be that then mate if the seal around the coilpack to the spark plug isn't 100% then that could well be causing the fault.

    BlackMagic20vt:

    mk4golfgti_uk:
coz doing all the VAG com wont help much and you will be wasting money and time with computers, its a mechanical thing so get the pipes changed. i have wasted time and money behind vag com for boost leaks.

Not strickly true..  If a person learns to use the tools properly its a very powerful tool..  If you you didnt have VAGCOM how would you know you had a boost leak on your AUM then?  unless you have a rolling road and boost leak testers in your garage?

    VAGCOM = £200

    Flashy trim/sound/ wheels etc etc = £alotmore

I know what I would invest in first........not mentioning the amount of money you will be saving yourself everytime you had an airbag light/service light etc etc or similar this will pay for itself in months.  Dealeres charge what £80 to run a diagnostic session on your car? Thats to tell you what the problem is?

Yes something are mechancal but to say VAGCOM is a waste of money is ill founded...

VAGCOM then?  Did you not scan it when you first started to have the problem....  I know that you have them faults but seen as you have an AGU dont quote me on this but I wouldnt have thought the lambda sensor would kill that much performance on a AGU.  Reason being is that the AGU's only have one sensor after the CAT and my understanding is that its only used for emmisions where as the ARZ AUM and AUG come with two and the B1S1 sensor on these corrects air/fuel ratio on the cars by making it lean or rich depending on the car where as the AGU's dont have this sensor and the B1S1 sensor is very important on the latter cars but you dont have one before the
