Hi everyone ive been a member for a couple of months so i thought it was best to tell you what im all about.

im jack, 19 and an estate agent. (yes i know what your thinking!)

Basically started life in the french world and owned 3 peugeot 106's! finally ending with a mint moonstone blue gti on group n bilsteins, but...as french cars go it went wrong again and again so i had to change.

this was my first car my 106 quiksilver

    25082007021.jpg picture by jacko191188

    and my unreliable gti

    17022008130.jpg picture by jacko191188

so sold up had a 1.1 for a few months which was fun! :(

so early this year i was originally on the hunt for a seat ibiza cupra, but then decided they were too square, so i went for the golf.

i found it on autotrader of all places.

2000, 67k,  fsh mostly vw,  2 owners from new. Reflex silver

When i bought the car it had the vw votex kit, basically identical to the anniversary kit apart from the front splitter. 25mm Eibach springs

It had the revo stage 1 remap, sps3, with full milteck exhaust, and evolution dump valve and induction kit.

it sadly had hella cyrstal rear light which werent to my taste so i sold those (below). And got some r32 rear lights.

     12042008124.jpg picture by jacko191188

sadly the muppet who sprayed the rear splitter had got the wrong colour, wasnt reflex and also BY HAND cut out the exhaust recess....terrible

    31052008178.jpg picture by jacko191188

so sold that. and bought a brand new genuine vw anni splitter already sprayed from the factory. So fitted that and looked much better.

Also got a aero rear wiper

    17052008158.jpg picture by jacko191188

Also got my rear boot handle re-sprayed at the time as it had corroded! :(

there was also some horrible mesh in the front bumper so ripped that out.

Gave the car a good clay bar and detail and was looking ok, but hand on heart i knew the wheels were letting it down.

    20062008193.jpg picture by jacko191188

so id been keeping an eye on some anniversary ones being sold by motormadj and last week had a fresh refurbished set delivered to me and my god what a difference and when the sun hits them they sparkle! definately reccommend this chap to anyone! Oviously i needed tyes so id been keeping an eye of the parts section on pistonheads and by luck i spotted some 225/40 r18 pirelli p zero nero tyes x4 all and all brand spanking new. I went and picked them up from some dodgy area near london and got them for a bargain price of...yes...£180!!! went home with a smile on my face!

    15062008190.jpg picture by jacko191188

and on friday got everything fitted and gave the car a quick wash (sorry about the crap location! lol)

    13072008292.jpg picture by jacko191188

a real dull day so the car looks abit crappy tbh! british weather eh!

But its coming on, coilovers and arb's next

    then...

s3 strut braces, anni front splitter, paint up my calipers. german plates. poss a decat.

but due to the nature of my job i cant go overboard! lol

will also add the brushed aluminium and r-line gear knob and front aero wipers.

apart from that im fairly happy with the progress over the last 3 months and i definately have caught...THE BUG!

    Comments welcome, jack

Weclome to the forum jacko. It looks like you are modding with a steady hand and already she is looking very stealth. Thank god you got shot of that Anniversary valance, it was revolting wasn't it! Everything looks great to me, you've covered the most noticeable areas I would suggest:

    • hubcentric spacers (10mm or 15mm)
    • painted calipers
    • pressed (legal) plates from Dubmeister
    • Sharan badge
    • Enfig Aerial (the best in my opinion)

And she'll look like one hell of a stealthy beast! Very nice work mate Yes

Looks very tidy, like the mods and sort out you've given it so far.  Could you do me a pic bang side on so I can see what the height is like with the 18s and standard suspension please?

I've been toying with a set of Motormadj's refurbed RCs for a while now, but if it looks too high then I'll settle for 17s as I'm not sure if I want to lower mine just yet...

    Cheers

cheers for the comments guys to be fair insurance was mad until i got my 2 years no claims, but now i have that i insure it with mods for £1235, bargian i say, Scruffy- to be fair if its 18s or 17s its gonna sit high, just worth even getting it lowered just abit, even for a while it means you got some eibach lowering springs, it wont effect the ride quality!

Goofy - im gonna be ordering a enfig one in the next few weeks but with the wheels being purchased im abit skint tbh! will also sort out a sharan badge and front aero wipers. I want it lower, but what means lower means new arb's, coilovers and ill probs sort out the s3 front lower strut brace, and maybe a rear one? o and some 15mm spacers. and oviously the coilys, not decided yet. did have my eyes on a set of bilstein pss on ebay. brand new £450. Would have bought them there and then but wheels had to come first! :)

Right everyone, thought i was due an update really been spending alot of time on edition 38 so i thought i better update this one.

Annnyway.... getting back to the mk4 lots more had to come but with going on holiday and to creamfields this year cash was abit short, but as i had planned i wanted to get the exterior done 1st then focus on the suspension and engine etc.

But sadly this was all stopped when i went outisde one morning to find all four of these missing! sad.gif

slightly intoxicated off to say the least so bought a bbs spanner and got another set at a bargain of £50.

before that purchase my car was looking abit of a pig as i sold my votex valance to a mate and had no centre caps, looked pikey to say the least! lol

On the up side one week later managed to score another ebay bargain, genuine anni valance already sprayed from vw, as it was a warranty replacement, but never fitted. So got that badboy on and also bought a black grill, all part of my little idea. Also got a enfig stubby from america.

so things were going ok, was just about to order some anni headlights, to blend in with the black grill but then one night on the way back from the pub......

yup hit a badger at 70 mph, nothing i could of done, went one way then the other, ***** things, thought i could of got away with a few scratches but i was wrong as it shows, only had my new splitter less than a week, cracked my bumper lost my grill insert and smashed up my arch lining. So thats going to have to be next months fix, money down the pan or what??

So thats where im up to atm, so once i get all that sorted, ill be getting new anni headlights, lupo black mirrors, 15mm rear spacers, weitec coilovers, eibach arb's s3 upper and lower strut brace and a rear one. Us spec rear lights possibly. and sort out the forest which is my wooden interior! haha

sorry to waffle on guys and girls. couple of pictures to finish with and all comments welcome, cheers, jack

Hi everyone havent posted since the badger incident..grrr

Anyway i have been sourcing new parts

over the last 2 months i have got a new front bumper (2nd hand ebay jobby!)

    Wheel arch lining from vw

ANOTHER anniversary valance (thanks mike a vw speed)

But becuase my donar bumper had a textured black plastic bumper strip i gave used my old one.

Hence my dog of a car, looking at it it though i do wish we didnt have to have number plates as a u.s bumper strip would look awesome!

Also on the shopping list arrived yesterday.

    and fitted last night

Blends in with the black grill very well, just the look i was looking for!

    FINALLY.....

    i just couldnt resist...

yes KW V2's full height and dampening adjustable, just sitting under my bed atm until i sort my anti roll bars, however a friend of a friend is selling some weitecs for a very very competitive price, so i could be tempted to sell these and re-coop some cash. But i do love them...ummm

So thats where im at so far, all my gear is at the body shop getting painted and in the meantime i have deicided not to wash my car until the car is all back together and looking fresh! considering i wash my car 1-2 a week im finding it hard lol

Comments welcome about my pikey car! haha

Bit of an update but once again nothing good! :(

good news: Got car back from bodyshop looking fresh.

Bad news: found out one of my coilovers on the dampening adjuster on the top of the coilover had snapped off so i wouldnt be able to adjust the dampening!!!!

So spoke to kw and needed a new insert so £130 later there all fixed and ready to go...

But.........on the way home friday night and my coilpack has gone! (or so i suspect) So managed to nurse it home..Just and its going to the garage tommorrow morning.

So atm not a very good end to 2008! lol one step forward two steps back! haha

Very rarley see coipacks fail on the AGU engine in fact yet to coma accross a coilpack failure on a AGU.   The ignition amp is another story though.  Coilpacks are £120 brand new by the way for an AGU.  Even cheaper for a ARZ, AUM and AUQ.  You sure all 4 coil packs were gone seems a bit strange.Nice looking motor by the way..

Blackmagic20vt- well ive only driven 1/4 mile from the garage back to work, so could be a different story but seems ok? Your right in a way, only one went but i was advised replace all four just in case another went again, as much as it sounds im being ripped off, i do alot of milage and the last thing i want is another one going when im going on a long trip, as work get on to me when my car goes wrong.....******* ! So i just thought just buy them, wont have to worry about it now.

Yes it was £120 for all of them, £45 for labour and diagnostics and the big gay VAT on top. All adds up.

So after replacing my kw coilover insert, pay for a new bumper, splitter to be sprayed, tax my car and pay for this bill AS WELL AS XMAS..im officially a very skint uk-mkivs member! haha cars..why do i bother!

Thanks for the comments, it looks a dog in the mornings but scrubbs up well! ;)
