I am selling my car and was wondering via what method have people had their success......

I have advertised the car on the classifieds on here and on edition 38, and the car should be in the volkswagen drivers magazine next month.

What do people think to putting an advert in the auto trader or exchange and mart?

Looked quite expensive though, coming in at around £40 for 2-3 weeks Tongue Tied

You could place an ad with VW Driver. See here:

I put mine on Trader for 2 weeks, and didnt get any calls until the last 5 days, and then got loads, I guess it just depends what your selling.

Ebay, if you get cash on collection, you dont have to pay Paypal fees, and other transfer fees.

    Hi Mate,

I usually advertise through all the free means and E-Bay when selling cars.  E-Bay does bring some silly questions from potential buyers, but if you specify cash on collection and sold as seen, you're normally fine.

My last car sold straight away through an ad on Freeads website...

My car's on pistonheads and autotrader at the moment, and I've had zero interest. Pretty sure that I'm asking way over the odds for it, and no-one seems to want to buy a car at the mo anyway, what with holidays and the so-called 'credit crunch' etc.

Wish I'd waited til this year for buying my car, as used prices seemed to have dived with all the petrol increases. I've seen Mk4 R32's going for 9 and 10 grand when they were more like 12 or 13 last year!

I really fancy a change, but the sensible side of my head says to stick with my current car as it's had no problems (touch wood) and it's in good nick.

I suppose it all depends on the time of year, and also who wants what at the time, and a little bit of luck....

Nothing seems to be selling at the moment. I have my bike and my car on both Autotrader and ebay with little interest except for imo very silly offers.Never known it like this in all the time I have bought and sold.
