As far as I know its purely for working with the alarm / immobiliser / clocks, hence the name, VagTacho, although I may be wrong. I just used it to retrieve my SKC and recode a set of new clocks.

I think you need a different cable to get access to the CCM (where all the autowindows stuff is kept) and appropriate software to understand the low level functions.

Bleep on the alarm can be done via Vag-Com (at least this is what I used).

The genuine version is expensive at €290 but the ebay version is just a cheap Chinese cloned cable that runs the pirated version of the software.

i also need this to recode a key, car came with 2 keys, only one is activated, the other key throws up an imobilzer error on the dash!

Is it really easy to follow and programme my spare key to the car?

i have a vagcom lead and vagcom, but not got round to using that to check for errors, i am computer minded, but it worrys me when you start playing with a cars brain!!!

Hi all i bought a mickey mouse version coded three keys found my skc in about a minute clicked on mileage correction but didn't go there oh yeah it works with Vista too, but auto closier etc is a bit to deep for me but i think you need some other software so i will leave that to the experts on here, here's the link

To code a spare key to your Immobiliser you can do it with Vag Com - I did it on my old golf and worked a treat!

The only nerve racking thing is you have to wipe the immo of all the stored keys first, then add new keys - so check and double check everything! But it was my first time doing it and it paid off so all you need is vagcom, a cable and B**** of steel!

i thought you needed the SKC aswell? the 4 digit code? if you dont have it don't you need vag tacho to find it then use it on vag-com, is this correct,

Wiping all the keys.... i would sh*t myself!!! very scared now!!

    Joe.
