Saw my first BMX X6 on the road today, boy what an ugly car, whoever designed this must have been wearing a blindfold.

Just had a look at the BMW website and these things start at 42k, I just don't understand why anybody would spend that kind of money on this car, it just goes to show the selling power of that blue and white badge.

One of the ugliest cars I've ever seen, although I conceed the Subaru Tribeca is more asthetically challenged. The BMW to me looks like they have tried to graft a car's body shell on to a Monster Truck chassis. It left me wondering.... To what question was the answer a BMW X6 ? As to who would drive such a vehicle.. the two I have seen were driven by complete tools i.e. about 50 through town with mobiles glued to their ears.

Just another rancid 4x4.  Ick!  Right up there with the Porche Cayenne.  I don't know what's going on in the designer's head with that one!

Another fad to appeal to the muppets with piles of money but no sense of taste. The ability to be able to take the kids to school in a vehicle with a 4x4 presence but what is meant to be some sort of svelte Coupe body appeals to far to many people sadly.

I won't be letting one out of a junction.

Where does the black in Guinness go when you wee wee? I mean, how can something blacker than a black night with the consistency of used engine oil come out crystal clear within 20 minutes after 10 pints?

aparently because of the angle of the rear window, light reflecting off it can sometimes make reversing difficult.

there were quite a few over in canada when i was there earlier this year, came back and the weekend after their release, saw one on the motorway hard shoulder with its hazards on.

If anyone sees one appear at a trackday, please pelt it with eggs.

I saw one on the road for the first time this week. It's so ugly it nearly made my children cry. An utterly pointless car.

What is it with the 'premium' German manufacturers at the moment. They seem to have convertibles and 4x4's for every size segment. Mercedes also have various sizes of MPV's, there must literally be a unique car for everyone in the current Mercedes range.

Sadly because people with piles of money will buy them for the fad. If there is a market, the rich manufacturers will dip their toes. If it works, the rest will follow.

Porsche making a 4x4. BMW making a 4x4 Coupe. All because people will buy them.

It wouldn't surpise me in the slightest if BMW brought out a convertible 4x4. Someone will, mark my words. 645 convertible based on an X5 chassis anyone lol.

If BMW made an X6 convertible it could only improve it's looks...

I'm not a fan of the new A3 and 1 series convertibles either. If I stuck some old pram wheels on my bath it would look prettier. The only point of these 2 cars is to give owners of chavved up Escort convertibles something to aspire to.

I'll get lynched but as much as I am not keen on it, the Cayenne is way uglier IMO. Mind you why you would choose it over an X5 I will never know.

Pierre Leclercq designed the X6...he's a Frog. Head of design at BMW is now Adrian van Hooydonk, a Dutchman and plans to take BMW in the direction of the CS concept (better). Bangle, who is the previous chief and signed off everything BMW sell today, was a Yank, who did the Fiat Coupe years back.
