VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) is developed and produced by Ross-Tech, LLC in the US.  VCDS is software that turns your PC into the equivalent of the VW factory tool.  To connect your PC to the car, you need an interface cable and the VCDS system consists of the interface cable and the software.  For your car, the product from Ross-Tech that I would recommend is the VCDS License with a KEY-??? interface where the ??? = USB for a USB port or COM for a serial port.

Please see this web page:  http://www.ross-tech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=VAGCOM

or contact a Ross-Tech distributor in the UK.
