Hey guys, i bought a K&N induction kit off ebay for £17 which i thought was a good bargain but it says on the description that the pipe dont come with it because it was pointless so he says and it blew dust about in the engine, can you check it out just put this item number in ( 300240173357 ) let me know if i need that pipe or not because i thought the pipe made the air more dense which is better for engine?

    cheers

The purpose of the pipe is supposedly to help get more air into the bay, since it's no longer being directed in in the same way as with the standard airbox.

As for whether it's genuinely necessary...I dunno. It's probably debatable whether a metre-length of bendy hose is actually helping direct cold air into the bay. And hey: if it turns out it's necessary, then you could buy that metre-length of pipe from a shop for, like, £1.  Smile

As above - not necessary, but if you really wanted to, you could make up your own as Narkus says...
