Hi, I have the above mentioned car and am looking at increasing the power,

I'm interested in having my car re-mapped/chipped but am not sure where is best to go for this / what I can expect to pay and what power increase i can get??

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!

I've looked into it for mine and you get very little gain for any money spent on a non-turbo car,although as your engine is more or less exactly the same as fitted to mk.3 GTI's then all it's tuning parts will be applicable I guess.
It would be cheaper to sell it and get a petrol or diesel turbo than it would be to tune yours and still end up with less power.

Even witha remap your only going to get 15/20 hp extra. The cost of a CAI or the likes are only going to be slight imporvment over stock.

There are forums over on vwvortex that have users changing manifolds and adding turbos but as Chris said....Its going to be cheaper looking to swap it for a whole different car.

Hi Mate,

To improve yours, the best route really is to fit a good Cold Induction Kit & exhaust.  A de-cat would also help things.  Not sure how much increase this would give you, but I'm thinking between 10-20BHP probably...

Does anyone know where i can get a dashboard tray to fit between my cupholders and stereo, not a blanking tray, just a tray to put a couple of CD/s in etc. I have one already that doesn't fit properly - I need one specifically for the Mk4 Golf. Any help with this much appreciated!
