One of the most annoying things of owning a Mkv GTI in australia is the lack of tuners offering products and services we all take for granted in the UK,  The majority of tuners only offers services for big V8s or turbo'd Jap'mobiles. That's my winge out the way.

After hours of surfing with the odd rouge website distraction, I have found two tuners within teh Brisbane area that offer ther following:

1 - OPM Sport, www.opmsport.com.au ,  who offer a revo technik remap giving a quoted power increase to 195kw and torque of 408Nm for $1500 (£714). This tuner is approximatly 200km from where I live

2- APR Oceania, www.goapr.com.au , who offer a APR Tuned remap giving a quoted power increase to 188kw and torque of 411Nm for $1795 (£854). This tuner is 50km from where I live

My question is what are the pros and cons in comparrison of both options, and if any other members have dealt with either of these tuners, is there any feedback.

To help my car is a late 2007 model with 25,000km on the clock, only modification to date is a K&N panel filter.

    Thanks in advance

    great minds 'n all than!

Another options would be to see if the uk tuner could source an ecu, remap it and send it out to you if you put a deposit on the unit? Would save the second lot of postage.

The link above is one of my dealers, he can do the work for you so no need to source a second ecu.

He can also supply you the st3 which is a switchable system that holds 2 maps and yet is still cheaper than the prices you have quoted.
