I found another attractive Golf while looking on AutoTrader, its a good 60 miles from where I live but I am willing to travel if it is worth it.

It was suggested on here that I should do a vehicle check and I was pointed in the direction of MyCarCheck.com

The results for said Golf came back with:

Make & Model Volkswagen - Golf Gt Tdi

    Engine Size - 1896cc
    Engine Number - AJM342753
    First Registered - 26 Jan 2001
    Year Manufactured - 2000
    Former Keepers - 2
Last Keeper Change - The last recorded change of keeper occurred on 12 Sep 2006
    Mileage - 52,000 miles recorded on 12 May 2006
    Body - 5 Door Hatchback
    Colour - Silver

My confusion lies in the "Last Keeper Change" part where it says that the last change of keeper occurred in 2006, now does this mean the last owner had it from that date up till present. Or that it hasn't been owned by anyone since 2006?
I apologize if my newbie questions irritate anyone but I am quite clueless and If I don't want to travel to Slough just to find out its dodge.
    Cheers in advance.

This translates to the first owner keeping it up to 12th Sept 2006, then the 2nd owner having it until now.

Nay problem.  Good luck with it and don't forget to cross reference the milage from the carcheck to the current milage to make sure nothings been 'fiddled'  Yes

Sorry, just thought of something to add to this, because I know nothing about cars I was going to take my girlfriends dad with me to check the car over, but it is quite a distance so I can't expect him to come all that way as he is a 24/7 Locksmith.

I'm a member of RAC and i've seen that the RAC Vehicle checks are somthing like £120, is it worth getting this done in place of the Mrs' dad having a look for me? Because if the check came back as "Ay-OK" then I would straight up buy it Smile
