For those of who you can only pay in monthly installments I noticed Kwik-fit were charging a whopping 39.9% APR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being an old git, insurance isn't that expensive for me, but if any of you young 'uns are looking for insurance and can only pay monthly, avoid kwik-fit like the plague. They quote the annual price, but when quoting the monthly payment method, they only give the deposit followed by the repayments - they don't quote the total figure. (the 39.9%APR is in small print). At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

Anyone heard of a higher APR rate than 39.9% ?

Here's the small print garabge they give you with their online quote: Note if the 39.9% isn't bad enough they charge you a credit card fee and an Online payment fee !!!!  I've never seen that one before. An online quote penalising you for paying online?  Tongue Tied

The £850 accidental excess for a 19 year old ain't too clever either.  As I said, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

edit: not sure why the cut 'n paste table isn't displaying the figures but the credit card fee is £2.50 and the online payment fee is £1.00

    Terms
    APR: 39.9%
    Credit Card: £2.50
    Online payment fee: £1.00
    Accidental damage excess: £550.00
    Fire & theft excess: £250.00
    Windscreen excess: £60
    In addition, if you are
    aged 17-20: £300
    aged 21 to 24: £200
aged 25 or over but full
    licence less that 1 year
    £100
These excesses apply in addition to the accidental
    damage excess shown above
This policy covers you to drive any other cars

    APR = 1845%

1845% APR - but according to them, APR is not a good way to compare!?  That's truely frightening!  Surprise

Oh my God, that's unbelievable!   Devil

You'd have to be in the 'super looser' bracket to need a loan from them.
