when ever i goto tescos and the like i park as far away from the enterance as possible in the remotest part of the car park to try and avoid the poor families in their beaten up escort that has more children in it than CC's - the kids jump out first swhing the doors open as wide as they go, as fast as they can so that they can fill their fat spoilt faces with hyperactive creating sweets.before anyone else.

That's a little harsh, the 'rich kids' and their parents for that matter that climb out of X5s, Xc90s , MLs etc....display just as little respect for other people's property..... I get your point though, if you park away from all the other cars in the car park, it's guaranteed that some bin will parked about 2 inches from you when you return

Me too! I had a similar thing happen last year. All got sorted in the end on her insurance, but you just don't need it.

Exactly. Happened to me today. Some flat bed gardening truck parked right next to me when I got back. Plus it was raining so that can hide any marks that might have appeared.

A car park is still classed as the public highway in the eyes of the law.

One of my mates got done for not wearing a seatbelt it Tesco car park.

Point is if he’s going to be a cock about it go throw the insurance and if you have a good solicitor you and your passenger can all clam whiplash.

And if you do go throw the insurance I was in the back ah har

It gets me that people can park 2 inch from you n can get out n leave it. I would be ashamed of myself.

That's the last place I'll park. That's where all the kids get out of the car without thinking. Look at the Kids zone and Disabled zone as places where all the damage happens and stay well away from them.

Gutted for ya mate.  Always worth trying to cut the paint instead of having to get it sprayed.

At least the guy gave ya his number though and seemed quite responsible. I take it you got his Reg No., just in case?

It grieves me to say it, but I've all but given up caring. As careful as I am, someone or something else always comes along and damages my paintwork.

In recent years cars have got wider, but parking spaces haven't expanded accordingly.

Brian, you're not wrong I'm afraid. Wifey came home last week and rather pensively told me that someone had scratched the car. I went and had a look and it's been keyed right down the drivers side on every panel. I wasn't even annoyed really. My first thought was that at least we've had it for over a year before someone decided to do mine. I just can't be arsed with chewing over the reasons why any more. I do all I can to avoid the accidental damage, but malicious damage will get you eventually. I just get on with life and think to myself that this is the little git who got my car.

    Link.

And then I smile to myself.Big Smile

I follow my own law of justice in car parks these days. I show people the respect they show me...
