should be a METAL pipe that runs around the back of the engine on top of the exhaust manifold and it couplet up to that iirc

not bad the turbo jacket should help spool it, and reduce lag Yes

How is a jacket around the turbo going to help it spool?

Keeps the air cooler and more dense before charging

it also prevents heat soak from the hot side

    Chris.:

How is a jacket around the turbo going to help it spool?

the main advantage of the turbo jacket is it prevents rapid cooling of the turbo, the turbo also use's its own heated gases at high temp and high velocity to spool up, it also  prevents temperature changes in the unit which can cause damage to the turbine.

the other main advantage is it keeps under bonnet temps down as the jacket stops the heat being transferd around the engine bay and more imporantly into the intake causing heat soak, as you only want cold/dense air as dent reform also stated

god im fed up , this ecu has started playing up yet again , as im runing low inpendance injectors ,the ms unit has a built in curcit to make them run , as im sure its gone faulty due to major over fuel and dosent matter what i try to do ,its missing and smokeing like a deisal , so i may have to bypass this and run high inpendance ,,

then while tuning the spark and fuel maps , the engine started smoking badly , i thought the worst .but found the problem which was the turbo oil feed hole was too big (8mm ) which was bypassing the turbo seals so added this one

and also fitted a 90 elbow too , so thats sorted that problem out , no smoke , lol

then got the laptop back on the go to find , my air tempture not working so went hunting at the local scrap to find one , made a new therd and fitted and works a dam treat too ,,

(all these little things do help trust , just awaiting now to try a new ms part , if i get no luck il thow some high inpedance inejctors in , fingers crossed one or the other sorts the problem ,,

I have just finished fixing the fuel gauge on my T4....   Not quite like what your doing but it seemed that the sender unit had a rheostat for the float unit that varied between 2 values which wasnt for example 0-100 ohms it was something like 146-295 ohms between empty and full, Try it out with different resistors!! - hope this helps

    Looking awesome still!
