Hi im having a tough time decided on which rims to put on my MK5 Golf 3dr in Black at first wanted to buy GTi replicas and get them sprayed gloss black and keep a polished lip like these:

but then i came across these Fuel Rims but can't decide on which ones to go for also does anyone have pics of these fuel rims on a mk5 ??

the other choice i had in mind was these RS6's

can anyone give me any advice on which rims to go for please ?

    thanks

    =)

IMO plain black on a black car is too much.

BBS LM reps for definate, will set the car off a treat, although the RS6's are a nice wheel too and do look good on that pic you attached, can someone chop the images for you ?

I'm a fan of the BBS LM style too and I opted for a set of Dotz Roadster wheels.  They come in a graphite finish with polished lips and I'm pleased with the look.

From memory I think I paid around £425 for them but the current price is £524 (inc VAT).  They don't come with VW centres but I happened to have a set of centres from a previous set of Monza replicas and the centre caps fitted fine.  Here's a link to the Roadster wheel (clicky).

Personally I would go with the Monza 2's cos I have a black gti and I think it looks great, they suit the mota, otherwise go with what you want, Its your car at the end of the day so who cares what others think.

I had a set of Monza 2 reps on our car for a while but they are so vulnerable to kerb damage and really expensive to repair well I decided that the Dotz were (a) a nicer style and (b) much less prone to damage.  The Monzas were 8J wheels and the 225 tyres just didn't offer any real protection despite having the raised rim protector. The Dotz wheels are 7.5J and the 225 tyres fit them much better.

Before anybody says it, I agree it's better to not drive into kerbs in the first place but it does happen - and you just HAVE to get it fixed!!

those fuels look really nice. bbs Lm look great also and there seem to be a few about for sale(all reps i imagine)the only thing that would worry me with reps is what is the tollerances of the reps tho compared to the original stuff.

grade of alloy used(cheap china stuff??) etc....just food for thought but happy hunting.

the RS6's are 19's and i really would go for them but i reackon the ride quality will be really effected with the size of the rim :(

Hi all have a look at this site it seems cheap but i cant seem to see anywhere that says some of the wheels are reps though especially the bbs range.

that site seems a bit dodgy to me has anyone ever ordered off there? them prices look to good to be true and it doesn't make sense how all the BBS LM reps sizes are the same price and with free delivery for like £495 hmmm not to sure mate i wouldn't trust them.
