Remote Control Matching with Vagcom (VCDS)

This procedure matches the new remote to the car to enable unlocking and window operation – you will not be able to start your car after doing this part only, if you are matching a new key you will then need to match the key to the immobiliser

Get ALL the remotes you would like to match. Insert one key in the ignition and turn it ON.

    [Select] à [46 - Cent. Conv.]  or [35 - Cent. Locking] (whichever is applicable) à [Adaptation - 10]

Channel  "01" (May be channel "21" in some Audi models) à [Read]

This will display the number of currently stored remotes in "Stored Value".

Enter your total number of keys up to a maximum of 4 (including any existing keys) in "New Value"

    [Test] à [Save]

Then press and hold (for at least one second) the UNLOCK button on the fob, at which time it will be learned. If you're programming more than one fob press and hold the UNLOCK button on the second fob for one second, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the third fob for one second, etc.

You have a total of 15 seconds to do them all

The car may give you some sort of acknowledgement as each key is learned (lights flash, horn beep, etc.)

If the above procedure does not work (neither Channel 01 nor Channel 21 are available), follow this procedure:

Insert a working (old) key in the ignition and turn to the ON position

    [Select] à [46 - Cent. Conv.]  or [35 - Cent. Locking] (whichever is applicable) à[Meas. Blocks - 08]

Group  "003" (may be group "007" in some vehicles) à  [Go!]

(The value in field 2 shows how many remotes have been matched and in which memory positions for example, "0001" indicates 1 transmitter in position 1).

Lock the car from outside using the new, unmatched key in the driver-side door lock.

Press the UNLOCK button on the new key within 5 seconds  enough times to reach next free memory position

(so you should press the new key's unlock button twice, to put the new key in memory position 2)

The car may give you some sort of acknowledgement as the button is pressed

Wait 5 seconds and press the unlock button on the new key to unlock the door.

Turn the ignition key to OFF and remove the old key.

Press LOCK and UNLOCK with the new key.

Insert the new key in the ignition and turn to the ON position (do not start car).

    [Select] à [46 - Cent. Conv.]  or [35 - Cent. Locking] à [Meas. Blocks - 08] à Enter group "003" à [Go!]

The value in field 2 should now indicate 0011 in the example used, showing the old key still matched in position 1 and the new key matched in position 2.

Make sure that new keys are always coded into free memory positions (where there is a zero in Group 003, field 2). If occupied positions (distinguishable by a "1") are used, the transmitter previously coded to this position will no longer work.

To  clear out existing matched remotes use the following procedure:

    [Select] à [46 - Cent. Conv.]  or [35 - Cent. Locking] (whichever is applicable) à [Adaptation - 10]

    à Enter channel "00" à [Read] à[Save] à[Yes]

After doing this, no remotes will be matched. You'll need to follow the appropriate above procedure to match all of the remotes.

    Key Matching with Vagcom (VCDS)

This procedure matches the key to the car’s immobiliser to enable it to start the vehicle. You will need the vehicle’s SKC code to do this.

Check  to make sure a key has the correct electronics in it so that it can be matched to the Immobilizer by:

    [Select] à [17 - Instruments] à [Meas. Blocks - 08]

    Group 022

    [Go!]

The value in field 3 must be 1. If value is not 1, the key is not capable of being adapted to Immobilizer. You can check each key in this manner.

     [Select] à [17 - Instruments] à [Meas. Blocks - 08]

    Group 024

    [Go!]

Any numbers displayed in fields 1-4 represent the time in minutes that must be counted down before the Immobilizer is unlocked.

    If the Immobilizer is locked:

[Done, Go Back] à [Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Do not switch off the ignition! Allow the car to sit for AT LEAST the number of minutes that were indicated by the display in Group 024

    [Select] à [17 - Instruments] à [Meas. Blocks - 08]

    Group 024

    [Go!]

Make sure all fields are zero.

    [Done, Go Back] à [Login - 11] à[Use 4 -digit PIN/SKC]

    Enter the 4-digit PIN/SKC preceded by a 0 eg: 01234

    [OK]

VAG-COM will validate the data you have entered and return you to the Login screen, where the Login Code will show as "XXXXX".

    [Do It!] à[Adaptation - 10]

    Enter 21 in "Channel Number"

    [Read]

The "Stored Value" is the number of keys currently matched.

    Enter "new value" of 0

    [Save]

This clears out the old key-matchings.

Enter a "new value" corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched,  including any existing keys

[Save] à[Done, Go Back] à[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Switch ignition off and remove key, Insert next key to ignition and switch ignition on again.

The warning light for the Immobilizer will light up for ~2 seconds, then go out

Switch ignition off and remove key

Repeat step 20 with each key until all keys have been matched.
