What is the tuning limit with the TDi using the DSG box?

Presumably I can safely get my 140 up to the factory 170 and associated torque as they did a 170dsg.

Beyond that, with a de-cat'd turbo back exhaust and panel filter the power gains won't be that great to be outside any tolerances would they? The remaps don't seem to offer too much over the 170's until you go for a hybrid turbo

well speaking for my self, my car is running 200+ bhp and the dsg box is fine!

Ive seen a R32 tunerwebsite saying that the DSG box is fine with 425 BHP and 400NM of torques.

The guys at awsome were running 350 bhp + on there MKV (not sure how much torque) with standard DSG box too.

I'm Sure it will take the extra 30bhp and torques

you can get uprated DSG clutches but they ain't cheap....

yeah you have a point there,

im sure the people who map them, ie Awesome APR , jabbasport , CC etc will be able to advise you. im prety sure just a standard map isnt going to stress it too much more

i have been looking at mkv r32 with dsg or should i get the normal one

do they have any problems with dsg

Id say its a Marmite thing...

best to go test drive both and see how you feel.

I love it, its faster and more econmical than a manual, even Clarkson said he liked it...

Can only comment on the tdi application - its a very good auto. Instant changes without the slurring that you usually get on a single clutch autobox. 6speed means long cruising gears.

As above - you really need to drive them both. THe purists will probably want the control of the manual - depends if you want your r32 to be a cross-continent GT or a rip-roaring racer.

The point and squirt aspect of auto boxes is addictive though
