the past couple of days have been good for parts on the bora front so i'm starting a build thread now some decent work is imminent.

i'll start from the beginning when i bought it, a 2.0 8v se in standard form out of the auto trader and i got it for a good price (auto trader ad pic)

i had already found myself a full r32 grey interior including doorcards

then i found a cheap set of wheels, audi TT comps

next was coily's - i only went for budget ebay items as i'd liked them in my old mk3 golf gti

now it was lowered with the wheels and seats within a week of ownership things slowed up for a while. i fitted a debadged grill which left the 'notch' in the bonnet to be attended to later on.

i had to get rid of the walnut trim in the centre so i was kindly gifted some net optic trim that i sanded back to r32 style

i also did the ashtray a few days later but have no pics.

while i was happy how far it had come i had to remove the rear badges to clean up the rear end

a mate at a bodyshop owed me a favour so i got him to paint the headlights black, turns out he fluffed them up though. i also got an anni front splitter and attended to the bonnet notch.

i liked the colour coded front so painted the rear splitter white too, cleaned it all up and got some pics.

the headlights were still annoying me, so i tried something a little different. seems they are a 'marmite' mod but they are different....

Like the look of the anni front spoiler, Is it a direct fit from a Golf or one specificly for the Bora?

the past two days have been the start of the 'real' build though.....

i'll post the pics and then list what i've got

    in no order

aum engine, box and ancillaries inc turbo

full wiring loom (car loom) dbw throttle pedal, side mount ic, header tank, carbon cannister, engine cover and p/s tank

    ecu

s3 link pipe with map sensor (for upcoming fmic fitment)

s3 inlet with injectors and tb

    s3 hotside pipe

s3 brakes and golf gti t hubs

ko4 turbo, tip, manifold and dp (all beit cut)

i also got an s3 upper brace - no pic

thanks chrisr - the splitter is a golf item modified to fit the bora.

i'll be ditching the sai, egr, n249 and tidy the lump up a bit. also try and get hold of a cleaner cam cover today.

Good luck with the heart transplant, that is going to create one amazing Bora.

I keep an eye out for your car round bracknell, though work life balance isn't great at the mo.  I'm from the great hollands side of town.  How about you?

Smile This is looking really smart, the R32 interior in a white car looks great. How did you find the fitting of the rear door cards?

Those lights are awesome, something a bit different - they really stand out.

Best of luck with the engine swap!

golfedd - indeed i was at dubs in the park, i was deemed 'too low for the car field' in with the buses - thought he was taking the mick! i loved the colour of your wheels btw. i did wander over to the mk4 group spoke to a couple of chaps, one being jedistyle, saw dent's car and djuplift's v6 but didn't chat to either of them. wasn't a bad show bar the weather!

Chris1.8T - thanks chap - the rear cards are 25-30mm short on the black part toward the rear of the door but it doesn't notice unless you are looking for it.

ABM - thanks mate, yea keep an eye hopefully turn out nice.

    small update coming....

    This is looking really tidy.

I especially like the front badge tidy up and the look of the Gti interior.

    Keep up the good work.

I feel I might try the headlight mod out for myself but with a twist.

thanks chaps, djdobs you can either use a heat gun or pop it in the oven, there is a how to thread about on  here.

right seeing as i'll be dropping the turbo lump in soon i thought i'd better attend to a few bits, i got some 50k mile genuine wishbones off a mate for free then popped to camberly audi for some non voided tt/s3 bushes and then got some discounted track rod ends and ball joints from a good mate who runs a motor factor - also ordered some top mounts too but they'll be here thursday.

oh excuse the 2 tone wisbones i just did it for a laugh!
