£60-70 I think.  I know its £28 for the fitting kit.  Not sure if first price includes one or not,

Total armrest kit from the dealer is more in the region of £200

I got an ebay one before and it was pure muck. So badly made. Hated it.

Look for a company called 'dsgwagen' on ebay - I bought mine off there for about £180 delivered which was by far the cheapest I could find. Local dealer wanted £250 off me, which was just rediculous

Look at the breakers yard for a written of Golf Match, that was the only regular version that had an armrest fiffted standard, and virtually all the Match's have anthracite cloth so there wont be an issue of it not matching your car.

With regards to fitting, there is a guide floating arround either on this forum or vw vortex. Its complicated but by no means impossible.

Best guide I could find when I took mine apart, translated from Danish by good old google

The guide mentions the rear air vents, I'm not if the TDI has the ability for the rear air vents, and if it does I don't think its worth the hassle, it took me over 90 minutes and a lot of swearing/ cut hands to change the duct in mine when I went from a non-cd to cd version of the armrest for my MDI

The armrest kit comes with a duct for the rear air vents, but it only goes as far as level with the front of the hand-brake. From there on there is supposed to be another duct (not supplied) along the transmission tunnel and connecting to the rest of the air-vent system. For that you'd probably end up taking the majority of the dash off which definately isn't worth it!

I think it comes in more like £150/160 from the dealer. For a mk5 one.

Did you get one in the end?

I was just browsing ebay and spotted the link to the one I bought - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-MK5-Golf-10-04-Retrofit-Armrest-Kit-Anthracite_W0QQitemZ170342887856QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item27a93a31b0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1689|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50 - did it on a 'make me an offer' at a slightly knocked down price.

your best bet is to look on ebay, and look for people breaking mkv's. the usally have there number on the page as well, so give them a call and just ask them or even just email  them. i picked one up on monday for £40. the whole arm rest in really good condition. there are some great deals on there, just got to fish them out.
