    i have a golf 1.6s 2001(51)

is it possible to get illuminated needles on this car ?

also when people talk of auto windows do they mean from the key or you just press the windows switch once and goes all the way because  my drivers side does it and i would like passenger side to do the same maybe even backs if possible ?

also what other little tricks can be done to this car ?

    also in leeds

     Not sure about the needles,

As for the windows its when you press & hold either the un-lock button (Windows go down) or lock it (windows go up)

    Like this-

If you have remote central locking then you can activate alarm beeps, Selective un-locking, Anti hi-jacking

    Vagcom - Code reading & clearing,Auto lock/Unlock (anti hi-jack),All doors unlock,Alarm Beeps,Auto windows,
Vagtacho - Key coding, SKC reading,MTE,Illuminated needles

Whats with the illuminated needles? They are already illuminated with the lights on so why is it a mod? Do they come on without the lights being on or something?

They are illuminated all the time, Dont really see the point of it really as you couldnt see it in the daytime & when its dark enough to see them you should have your lights on anyway!!!

    Sorry but I disagree.

It's not a 'must have' mod but I personally find it useful, especially in winter. Not so much in summer though.

For clarification - The needles are made to light up regardless of whether you have your headlights on or off, Audi style.

Hi there everyone, just joined the forum. It's nice to see a very large, diverse and interesting community here. Before joining I have used the forum extensively for diagnosing problems and searching for possible mod ideas, but in the end I couldn't resist it and really wanted to join!

Anyhow, I am interested in adding the remote windows functionality to my 2001 car as I have recently delocked it (for fundamental security reasons as you may already know!) and now cannot obviously use the key in the normal manner to close/open windows.

I have already looked into KVW100 modules but was wondering if anyone from the forum is able to the same thing with the VDS programme (if I'm correct). If anyone is from Birmingham and is able to do it for me then it'd be fantastic. That and the autolocking feature would be great!

    Many thanks.
